I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth like the OP. But never was I taught to make fun or be rude to people that are less fortunate! I was also taught "never to judge a book by its cover". Maybe the person with the fake didn't know it was a fake or maybe it was a gift like another tPFr said ... not everyone are into bags much less designer bags.

I don't like fakes either, but I would never make fun of people using them or be rude and judgemental to them. I was raised better than that!

I just would rather see positive in life. Instead of looking and actually counting the "fakes" ... I would have enjoyed DisneyWorld itself.

I'm not saying what he did was or wasn't okay, but if people feel this strongly about it, maybe there shouldn't be ANY posts talking about "OMG, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw a person with a fake" or following them around snapping pictures of their fakes, as other posters have done. If everybody feels this way, then the posts making fun of people who carry fakes should stop. It just seems like a huge double standard to me. Everyone is defending this women, but I'm sure most will still post how disgusted they are by seeing people carrying fakes.

Excuse me but saying I saw something that made me laugh, cringe, barf whatever is a heck of alot different then going up to someone and being obnoxious.

Ohhhhh, so it's okay to make fun of someone behind their back instead of calling them out on it to their face? I totally disagree. I'm not saying one is right and the other is wrong, but I really don't like the double standard. He's 14, what's everybody getting so worked up about anyway? The woman was carrying a fake, and when it comes to TPF, she should be burned alive, but when it comes to confronting her, "ohhh no, we would never do that". It just doesn't make sense.

^^^ that's a little harsh ... I've never heard or read anyone in tPF say that!

Calling out a fake to thier face is a matter of decorum, etiquette, and class (or lack thereof) not a matter of what we find acceptable to chat about on an online community called "tPF." There is a huge difference. And there have been many times where people start threads here thinking it's impressive to shout someone out in an offensively rude manner and most people on here say that the manner is not correct. It's not the subject that we have an issue with, it's the manner in which it was done. I do agree with you, that he is young and that's probably why he did it. But that does not mean people are not going to point it out.

Sweet P. I fully agree....

...and this whole thread is starting to get outta hand too...the OP had 3, yes 3 threads shut down in early march (not for super harsh reasons, but reasons enough) maybe this should be number 4 ? Seems like a somewhat familiar trend with this particular poster, kwim? Oy...

Still, IMO...noticing a fake and telling someone (a stranger & adult) they have a fake...is 2 different things.

I personally don't even think the OP even said that remark about the fake bag to the woman to be honest, the more I think about it. There's obviously some attention-issues here..like some said, maybe it's beause of age, etc.. who knows? :shrugs:

I see more fake bags in a day than I do authentic bags. It never upsets me, it does not make me angry, I would never say something to anyone. I might think in my head for 2 seconds, oh that is fake, or sometimes I do not even notice. I dont know, its just not something I dwell on. I do know this, if my son/daughter talked to ANYONE disrespectfully in any way, they would be punished. I would have taken the Mirror speedy away to never be seen again, AFTER the person was apologized to in a heartfelt manner. It makes me SICK when kids that come from a wealthy back ground treat adults (that more than likely work there asses) in a rude manner. I had LV and Gucci by the time I was 13 and I also went to boarding schools, etc...my parents taught me to be respectful, and kind. I truly hope the OP learns to grow up.
