I know I'm quoting some old posts, but I am just now catching up on this thread since I had not wandered over here before today!

I love TOMS! I just bought a matching set for my DD and I!

these are absolutely adorable!!!

^^I have a few pairs of the cords and they're awesome! They keep your feet a little warmer than the canvas, which is great for autumn. =]

I've only got canvas ones, had not thought of buying wool or cords for winter!! great idea :D

Me too! I just got back form Disney and my rainbow flip flops broke! Someone reccomended TOMS and I have been in love since! I spent almost a week in Southern CA and walked a lot and I didn't get a single blister!

My only advice to you is do not wash them! I bought the snow leopard pair on my vacation and they got weton splash mountain. They got really dirty after that and when I washed them, all the dye rinsed out. :(
They are still comfy though! :)

I second this...I had one of the Gabriel Lacktman neon blue/yellow faded ones and had to wash them and they faded quite a bit. also my silver moroccans I had to wash because they got all muddy from a music festival I went to and the print really isn't silver anymore. I think the plain colored ones are fine to wash though.

as far as sizing, I wear size 8 normally and have 8 in all 3 toms. only in one pair was it a looser fit. none of them were too tight and stretched only minimally.

I really wanted the herringbone with teal bottom around christmas but didn't snag them and then they sold out! too bad, they were so pretty!! I'm eyeing the Gabriel Lacktman spiral classics now...can't decide between navy or ash. and also of course the ballet flats coming out tomorrow!

well idk if its because men have wimpier feet since they are not used to heels or what, but i remember on this one walking tour in europe this guy was wearing toms and his feet were KILLING him. he kept sitting down whenever we would make a stop. I hear they are horribly uncomfortable, but if you have tough feet maybe it is okay.

they're very comfortable for most people, they are NOT however supportive walking shoes for long distances obviously :nogood:

Agree, although I haven't had any problems with any of my pairs.

Now that the ballet flats are out, I'm going to take the plunge. Problem is - I'm not sure what size to order - everyone who reviewed them on the Tom's site says they run 1/2 size big. I usually wear 7.5 in closed shoes...I'm a little reluctant to order size 7.

Any suggestions?

Bisbee, is there a store near you that sells them? The only way to really know what size you need is to try them on. With the regular TOMS, I was told to size down also, but they fit true to size for me. I normally wear a 7.5 US, too.

Well - I don't know about the price - probably because they can charge more for the look!

I went ahead and ordered size 7 - when they come I'll report back!

Hi everyone!

Since the search function is down, I apologize if the follow has been discussed before.

I was wondering whether anyone here owned TOMS shoes? http://www.tomsshoes.com/

I love the idea behind them, and think that they could be fun weekend/casual shoes. I would love to read opinions of them and whether they are comfortable or not.

Thanks!

There's this chick in my class that weas TOMS. They are decent look, and I agree with you. I like the idea behindd them, too..:D

I have 3 pairs and love one pair-black canvas. It is so comfortable. I also got two pairs for winter in heavier fabric and one pair is comfortable but the other one kind of starts to hurt my one foot if I wear it too long. Have no idea of what the problem is. I had to go up a whole size. Bought a pair for my daughter and she had to go up 1/2 size.
From a comfort point of view as a flat shoe they are OK. But I have found that my Bloch ballet flats that I buy from www.endless.com are way more comfortable and look so classy-even with simple jeans. I can also get them on sale in the 60.00+ dollar range. I can walk long in the Bloch flats and the don't bother my feet.

I HAVE MY BALLET FLATS ON ORDER! :smile1::smile1:

I ordered them from both the Toms site and from Nordstrom. Nordstrom is pre-order only, but the Toms are ready to ship now. In fact, I already have confirmation that Toms has already shipped mine. Yeah!!:smile1:

There is 1-2 reviews for every style that indicate they run 1/2 size too big. I think this is funny, because the reviews were posted immediately at the time the shoes were available on the website to order. These reviews were obviously the works of Toms staffers who posted those to let folks know exactly just that - the ballet flats all run 1/2 size too big. They could just have easily provided that information in the description. Well anywho...

I ordered several pairs - black leather, pink suede, and the multi-colored fabric (called Lina). I absolutely cannot wait for them to arrive. I have been wanting these so badly since they were announced back in September.:smile1:

let me know how it works once you get them.. i'm still contemplating which one to get.

Has anyone tried washing their Toms? I have a pair of canvas Toms that need to be cleaned, and I would love to throw them in the washer if anyone has tried it successfully. I figure with the cheap construction and leather insole that may be a disaster, though, but please respond if you have tried it!
In the past I know my mom has handwashed my canvas shoes without soaking them (Keds, not Toms) with woolite suds and a cloth, but I'm not sure how effective that would be for these shoes.

My black leather ballet flats are here - love them! I usually wear a 7 1/2 - ordered a 7 and I may even have to add an innersole - they definitely run large. Very cute - they won't be my last pair!
