Gah, how disappointing! I wonder if that's an indication of how the bag will wear out with time overall.

I don't think so...I have the bag in black and the leather is really durable. I think it's more indicative of Nordstrom. I've seen a lot of posts about bags coming from Nordstrom having damage. I don't think they do much QA at all, which is both unfortunate and unexpected given their reputation.

Ultimately the bag is tods so the quality control lies with them. It's an error that wasn't caught but I think there are "quality" issues within every industry....just more so now as companies are trying to cut cost but keep the same price and reputation. nordstrom just sold the bag they didn't MAKE it.

I've had other bags from different places with similar issues. It's a sign of the times but we spend too much, by fa, for it to be acceptable. Still looking....

I get what you are saying. However, my point is the item could have been damaged at any point (from manufacturing, shipping, receiving, etc.) but it's up to Nordstrom to review the item before they sell it to a customer. That's my expectation when purchasing a high-end item like this sight unseeen. I expect that someone looked over the item before they boxed it up and made sure it was not damaged. :smile1:

Take a look in the Chloe forum sometime...the other day I saw two separate threads with bags from Nordstrom that were damaged (scuffed, marked, etc.) or literally falling apart. Of course Nordstrom will take the bags back but that's not the experience I am interested in paying for. As a result, I don't buy high end bags online...I am far too picky! :p

It was in two different places where the leather was scratched away

I'm so sorry you received a damaged bag! I know how disappointing it is to wait in anticipation and to be let down when a bag is damaged or it wasn't quite what you were looking for.

I agree with Luv2Shop1 that the damage could have occurred at any point in the shipping/receiving process between Tod's and Nordstrom, and that the damage might not be a reflection of Tod's quality control. Certainly, Nordstrom should have caught this before the bag was shipped out to you.

Hope you keep us in the loop if you decide to get a new Miky bag.

Do you think men can use the Miky bag? It looks fairly unisex to me because my guy friend wants to get the Miky bag. What colors would be approrpiate for guys?
