I'm sorry about the Willie Nelson reference, but that's all I could think of when I thought about starting this post.

This is NOT to offend ANYONE who scores a great boutique bag at a fabulous price. Heck, I've been there many times. I know the feeling and I'm with you. Kudos! Seriously: I applaud your great find, and for those of you who KNOW it will end up on sale and have the patience to hunt for it all over the U.S. of A. (and maybe further around the world?), well...I wish I had your tenacity and patience. So does my bank account. So does my mom. :amuse:

BUT: What about the bags that were - at the time of their "brief" release - suddenly so LIMITED that no one could get their hands on them? (I'm not talking about the Snoopy debacle, here.) I'm talking about the pretty pink Phoebe that NOBODY could find, and then SUDDENLY they had TONS at the semi-annual sale. I'm talking about the gorgeous jade-colored Rhyder, "so, so, so limited in quantity," showing up on the shelf of my boutique this week. I'm talking about the gorgeous floral-patchwork Swagger bag that I bought before they sold out, and I'm wondering if THAT one will be on sale at the NEXT semi-annual.

Is anyone with me, here? What the heck! What's up with Coach saying "oh, so sorry - we're all out" and then really (and now obviously) shelving a bunch for semi-annual sale appearances? It's maddening! It does NOT help with whatever marketing strategy they're trying to put in place! And it certainly does not make me want to buy another bag..........

...............unless, of course, it's on sale for a really good deal. :blushing:

I'm feelin' ya. I paid an arm an a leg to get a pre-owned red currant gramercy after they dropped of the face of the retail earth, then boom. They're everywhere at a lovely discounted price. Thanks, coach.

I am with you too. That's why I can't pull the trigger on a bag that is "on sale" now because I think it will go to the outlet soon (that happened with the Sullivan hobo and other bags that were at the last SAS). Patience, my friends!

I've had it happen as well...with my Studly Duffle. I got it from the winter SAS, and it was on the FOS too, which I was locked out of at the time. I'm the idiot who never got a PA on it either.

The weird sale games Coach plays made me jump ship with the brand. I'm too impatient to wait and I'm sick of seeing a bag hyped so much and then abandoned just as quickly. Lucky for me there hasn't been a lot of bags I've been interested in so it's been an easy change. Don't even get me started on the mff versions of fp bags. It's like they're knocking off their own brand. Get it together Coach, I want to love you again.

Ahmen.

Coach hasn't learned yet, lol! I love them and the too many Coach bags that I have but dam near every bag produced will find its way to the outlet or FOS. My stance at this moment is this, if it's not clearance priced, I don't need it from Coach. I think just about every bag that I've gotten from the boutique has made its way to FOS.

You guys made me feel bad about purchasing a tatum whiplash tote today. I was trying to resist, telling myself it would soon be reduced further, but Lord and Taylor had it on sale, with extra % and no tax, it came to almost 50% off, and I succumbed! But there is something about owning the bag RIGHT NOW vs waiting, you know....

I'll wait as well. I want the Camo Taxi Tote, which is "on sale " for $175. You know darn well this bag is going to hit the outlets as Camo is not at all that popular and I can't imagine them moving a whole lot of inventory on the bag even at sale price.

I don't know, I think the camo was pretty limited, that would be one bag that I would think might not make it to fos.

Hilariously, I did my evening check of the department stores websites and Bloomingdale's had a $25 off every $100 you spend code. Scored my green scout hobo for 25% off today! Amazing what a little patience will get you :D

Macy's by me had at least 20 Ryder's 33 in metallic plus the ocelot print totes. Clearance plus 25%, plus more if you use your Macy's. I've never seen so many left over bags on the same style and color. Don't know if folks were after this one but Guess they didn't sell.

Don't feel bad!! We all have to decide what it's worth to us. I paid full price for my Swagger because I was not willing to take a chance on the Periwinkle being sold out before they might have gone on sale. Same for my duffle...I know I paid WAY more than other people, but it was still less than full price and couldn't be sure I'd find it anywhere else.
And I think almost 50% off is great!! I think the days of finding many styles of FP deletes at outlets for deep discounts are gone, so we're having to redefine just what those great deals now are.
Bottom line: enjoy your new beauty...no matter what!
