Tips for Bringing Home Hermes Boxes When Traveling?

I'm planning my trip to Paris in August. THanks to all the wonderful people on TPF I've been getting lots of tips and advice. One questions I cannot figure out is, how do you get the big orange box back from Paris if I am lucky enough to find the bags of my dream?? Do you ship the empty box back to the U.S.? Can you go into local H store to ask for a box? Is going through customs a problem if you carry that big orange box with you? Appreciate your input Thanks everyone~

I posted it back to myself after using bubble wrap and brown paper. It was a little squashed on one end but generally OK. I know my H store does do the bubble wrap thing for overseas visitors. HTH

I just carry it. Never had a problem bringing back to the UK.

Definitely mail the empty box home. I've heard some customs are trained to spot the box.

I suggest putting the empty boxes in your suitcase and packing your clothes into them. They don't take up much room that way. That's what I usually do.

THanks everyone~ I think I can fit the first big box in the suitcase and pack my clothese like VanillaSkye suggested Then, if I am really bad and got lots of other H stuff from Paris, I will have to mail those boxes home~~ haha~ wonderful ideas!!

Better still Lyanna, buy a suitcase out there - did that last year in HK - there was NO way it was all going to fit :shame:
