Tiffany - Will you make a purchase before the price increase?

I'm sorry to say that I think that most of the Frank Gehry motifs have been discontinued  Only the torque pieces have been showing online for the past several months. Maybe you'll be able to find one on eBay or another dealer in time? (And avoid the price increase after all!)

Oh no!!! I will have to stop in at my local Tiffany's ... Thanks, I didn't even think of that!

I have been so annoyed by salespeople telling me about price increases... I heard this from Tiffany last October, also from Van Cleef last November... Both times the implication was "soon" and I've come to feel this is a tactic used to generate anxiety, then pressured decisions. Yes- prices do go up but when SAs mention it when I am deliberating a purchase, I've learned walk away and talk to another SA. I mentioned my experiences with a store director at Tiffany and she was displeased by the behavior of the SA. I'd rather the SA tells me "I'm glad you decided today, there's talk of a price increase and you've made a great decision!" This is far more professional and appreciated by me.., the mark up on jewelry is huge, the commissions are generous and the value of a piece should be determined by research, facts and what the consumer feels is appropriate in the present market. Doubt means don't in my book...

IDK by how much or which lines but was informed that it would go in to effect this Sunday :-(

I went in today and it is all lines across the board :-( My SA also mentioned that they will be discontinuing the etoile line altogether. So, if you are interested in that line you better get your pieces whike you still can.

I think part of this pattern of price increases, and the fact that it's advertised a few weeks before taking effect, is a marketing ploy to push people to buy things before the increase. The prices are already so ridiculously high that their price increases are offensive to me. If I was really in love with something at Tiffany, and I'm not willing to pay the price increase when it's the right time for me to buy, then I don't like it enough to buy it at all. And that usually turns out to be the case.

I think some prices have changed because I just looked again and the mini bow pendant went from $125 to $135 and the bean pendant seems to have gone up in price as well. Also noticed some adjustments on some gold pieces but the silver increases seem to be smaller.

The .17 RG DBTY I have been saving for went up from $1200 to $1350. This is ridiculous. I know gold hasn't gone up in price that quickly. It just makes me not want to buy it anymore.

NurseAnn - That's a big jump. And yes, you are right, gold prices haven't gone up, if anything, they've come down recently. It is ridiculous. I noticed the price of the bean necklace in gold, for example, went up, I believe $100. I was eyeing that piece as a possible "save up" but now I'm thinking "no way". I can buy gold pieces from others like Vale Jewelry or Dana Rebecca which are just as satisfying.

Oh no that's a big jump. I don't think I'll be getting 0.17 RG now. The price increase is ridiculous
