So, as some of you know I really would like a low-profile engagement ring and was considering stacking rings primarily until I ran across this-- I have seen it a thousand times before and it never really spoke to me but now I just can't seem to shake the idea of it. It seems perfect-- bezel set, classic, timeless, subtly elegant and bling-y, has an heirloom and vintage quality to it, the price is perfect; but I have no idea what I'd pair with it for a wedding band. I wouldn't want anything to upstage it because it is rather subtle for an e-ring but anything too plain would just be lost next to it.

I would love to hear your ideas. :) Especially because you all have a better eye than me and aren't biased :)
I know I'm probably being really silly about this but these two rings (e-ring/wb) will probably be the only rings I'll ever own or wear because of having horses, dogs, possibly kids some day, etc and having lots of nice rings isn't really all that practical for the lifestyle that I do have and plan on having in the future.

Here's the ring:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP00243&mcat=148204&cid=287466&search_params=s+5-p+17-c+287466-r+101323340+101323351-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

Would anything go with it and still keep the integrity of the circlet ring?

Thanks, girls! I look forward to hearing all of your opinions/responses! :)

That is a beautiful (and engagement-y) ring and the second wedding band (the one you adore) would be perfect with it IMO. Good luck choosing! Make sure the choices make YOU thrilled.

People will always find something "bad". But in the end, you have to wear your ring all the time, not your friends. Enjoy the fact that your ring will be different! :) If you chose a more traditional e-ring, you will probably be dissatisfied and always think about the other ring which would have made you happier.

Good points!

May I add that rings currently called "traditional" haven't been so for that long? The only tradition you need to follow is the one you're creating.

Could you post pictures of it? It sounds beautiful, I would love to see it!
And honestly, I could care less about whether it reads e-ring or wb to other people more than I want the two rings to look cohesive as a set. Although I have slightly bigger fingers (size 7) so there's quite a bit of finger coverage I don't think it'll look like a wb; and you're right, less people asking you about the wedding could be a major bonus! haha :)

Twist my arm! I love my three stone!

I'm pretty sure I attached a picture of my stack. For some reason, I don't have pictures of just my e-ring and wedding band together, though that's what I usually wear. For size reference, my ring size is a bloated 3.25 (that's my size but my fingers have been holding water lately, ugh) and my ring is a total 2.07 carats.

You don't think it would be too plain against it? Because that is the band that I, actually, prefer over the two but I've having a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea of paying more/about the same price for something without diamonds and feel like maybe I'd regret not doing the half eternity but I'm 100% I'd regret not going with the Tiffany milgrain band because I'm in love with it so much.

OH MY GOD, your set is STUNNING. Your e-ring makes me want a plain three-stone ring. (I seriously just went and googled some! ;)) Do you have a plain band and then the eternity? I looked at the pictures on my phone and it was hard to tell. Either way, this just definitely solidified that even if I don't get the circlet I definitely want a three-stone ring in some shape or fashion :)
Thanks so much for sharing!

STUNNING! is this the same ring as OP wanted? And what's your wedding band?

My ring is different because it doesn't have any halos around the three main stones. It's the Tiffany classic three stone with round brilliant diamonds. With the halos, the circlet may have as much finger coverage but I'm not sure.

I didn't have a picture of my usual set on my iPad, so I went and took one just now. Excuse my industrial office... The beauty industry is not always so glamorous!

This is what I usually wear: Tiffany three stone e-ring and Tiffany knife edge wedding band. In the pictures posted before, I stacked these two with a diamond band but then my wedding band serves more as a spacer. For everyday, I prefer metal wedding bands because I like the mixed look of sparkly and smooth/shiny textures.

I've tried this ring on and and I LOVE it. I see it with a very thin platinum wedding band. Let us know what you decide.

Is it super sparkly and stunning in person?! Tell me all about it! :D

There's another member on PF that received it as an anniversary present and it looks beautiful on her! I haven't had a chance to try it on yet as the closest Tiffany store is appx. 150 miles away from me (in Cincinnati), but I want to so badly. When I have the chain on my bean necklace lengthened I think I'm going to take a look. I was rather put off the last time I went into a TS (in Las Vegas and was treated horribly by the SA there) so I've been putting off going back into one.

I think the plainer band would highlight the beauty of the engagement ring. There's enough activity in that ring that it doesn't need the competing sparkle of a semi-eternity to bring out its sparkle and quality.

This is true; I definitely would rarely wear a higher set ring. Thanks!

Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I was thinking either a thin milgrain (to match the milgrain on the circlet) half eternity like this one which I really like:

or this one, which I adore, but wonder if it would be too plain:

In my opinion, both choices would work really well. Good for you for not listening to your friends about what you "should" get. Either way, you have excellent taste and you know what you like. My friends were also unsupportive of my choice of engagement ring and wedding band, but to reiterate what everyone else has said, you will be wearing your rings for the rest of your life so the only opinions that truly matter are yours and your future husband's. Please share when you do decide!

Here's the one I thought of before I had seen your picks. Looks a lot like the one from Bluenile. :smile1:

Thanks for the input! I have just always been drawn to that band so it's nice to hear that it isn't too plain, etc. and would go with the circlet. :) Thanks so much again for all your ideas and opinions!

What does your e-ring look like & why were they unsupportive? If you don't mind me asking. :)
I've seen that ring before and it's so gorgeous IRL, what terrifies me is that it looks as if there is not much of an edge and I'd hate to lose a diamond out in the middle of a field or in the dirt or something.

Haha... Not at all. They were unsupportive because they thought my rings were gaudy and didn't match. My wedding band is an eternity ring of square cut diamonds and my e-ring is a 4ct. emerald cut diamond with baguette side-stones. Like you, I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and I wanted something that wasn't a perfectly matched set, but more suited to my personality. All of my married friends have e-rings and bands that were purchased as matching sets.

I'd check with Tiffany to see what kinds of repairs they cover. I wear my wedding ring everyday and it has held up well. I have sent my e-ring for repair twice now but was not been charged in either instance. My ring isn't Tiffany but it's from a comparable jeweler.

I totally agree w u about the t&co ring-vit matches, buti feel that its not going to pop. That blue nile ring is gorgeous!!

Thanks for your input! I definitely have that concern but really girly-sparkly stuff looks strange on me so I'll have to try them on first... or better yet get the e-ring first! haha

Thanks for the advice, that's a really good question to ask and thanks for the reminder to ask that because I probably will be too excited and forget to do-so; hopefully not though!
