LOL... see my husband would absolutely cringe at this logic as I've paid for the magic already but I was thinking of listing it on ebay to put towards these earrings anyway and you're so right, I hate seeing that beautiful piece in my box as I just know that as much as I appreciate it, it's just too big for me... I never choose it! And it KILLS me b/c it was like $3200 or something. This way it goes to good use and I'm only out of pocket ("only" ... geeze) $9400!
I think you're right too... they are only going to go up in price and I'll never have an opportunity like this again... OFFICIALLY BANNED. That's IT!

Honestly, it was meant to be! The same thing happened for the diamond studs I got. They were one of the first gifts from hubby when we were dating... in order to do a trade in, they need the receipt or diamond bond, not just the certificate. Hubby didn't keep it, and I didn't ask for it, since we were just dating... So I though there was no way I could do a trade in. But the SA did a ton of searching and finally found it on their system back from 2005!!! So I just jumped at the chance to upgrade the studs since I was getting 1K credit towards them! When the stars alighn like that, you just have to go for it!!! The earrings really are gorgeous!

I called Tiffany's this am to tell them to wait on altering the backings for me for a bit so I could cool my heels... but I have to admit I've lusted after these VCA earrings for 2 years and to know they're going to go up so much and that I have this rare chance to exchange a pendant that I don't even wear - seriously cannot resist!!! Btw..I've noticed that a lot of your VCA jewelry and tiffany jewelry is yellow gold.... will that make a difference to you since these earrings are white metal? Just want to make sure you consider everything before taking the plunge.....

It's a good point! To me these just look like all diamonds - sort of like how studs with platinum prongs don't really show the prongs, KWIM? I'm not too worried about them - I seem to have a real mix now I guess! DH keeps saying "I didn't peg you for a yellow gold person" but suddenly am loving the richness of it!
I have a platinum wedding/ering set and I think my day to day will be that with my YG LOVE (never thought i'd like two metals on the same hand that don't match but I do!), my plain diamond studs and one of my two DBTY necklaces, either the white diamond or the new yellow diamond. I don't think I'd wear the yellow diamond with these... that would seem a bit off... or the VCA 20 motif... I would wear these if I was either going out for a special night OR with jeans/usual dresses... in which case I'd tone down the rest of the jewelry to just the LOVE and wedding set.

That's what I love about metals now... anything goes....before it was faux paus to mix, but now I wear white metal with my yellow metal watch...I have a gold MK watch. I couldn't resist...everywhere I turn I see gold watches!
I tried that!!! I'm not much of a watch girl but after seeing the celeb threads here and seeing Kristin Cavallari (sp?) (who's style I hate to admit I love!) wearing a MK one (I think it was MK from Shopbop?) I had to try it too! I love it on others but just don't feel right in big gold watches... haven't worn a watch in YEARS actually! Probably best I don't too - knowing me I'd be running to cartier to beat the price increase on that too!
I actually RETURNED my original YG/MOP set from VCA in favour of a WG one b/c I was scared to mix metals... and now I'm in YG heaven! So funny...
I actually like the look now!
VCA, by far. The Tiffany settings are beautiful, but let's be honest, they're very "latest trend" right now, and you just bought one of the best yellow diamond designs they have right now (IMO). The Lotus are timeless. And VCA always wins over Tiffany.
