I love both, but personally lean towards the Cartier. The Smile has more presence, but I'd worry about it getting warped wearing it all the time. While sapphires aren't quite as durable as diamonds, I have two corundrum pieces (not Cartier) I wear 24/7 without issue. The Cartier is also more detailed, like the diamond cut chain and the setting itself. It's subtle, but really highlights their build quality.

Hi everyone! I know this thread is a bit old however, I just got the Cartier D’Amour necklace and I’m completely in love. I have the Small Model and the diamond size and length of the chain is perfect for me. I’m going to save up for the Large model in white gold. I was a long time wearer of the Tiffany’s Diamonds by the Yard necklace, which back then, I could only afford the 0.3 diamond size.
I have a question to anyone that owns the D’Amour necklace is white gold, does the chain start to lose its shine and luster over time? I plan on cleaning mine with just soapy warm water once a month.

The small size is perfect for every day and the diamond is clearly evident when I wear it. I still want to large size to wear for formal events or going out. I love how no one knows this is a Cartier necklace. I was going to purchase the XS at first however, after owning a 0.3 diamond size from Tiffany’s DBY necklace the 0.9 is a huge upgrade for me.I was simply being indecisive, I really want both! I will keep the smile now
I never take my Cartier D’Amour off except to clean it in my ultrasonic cleaner. I do that about once a week or every two weeks. It doesn’t lose its sparkle!
Mine is white gold and it’s still perfect! I clean it with dishwashing liquid, though, not soap. I have oily skin and I wear perfume/sunscreen, so my cleaning needs to be more thorough.
