A big THANK YOU to everyone who chimed in and/or voted. I'm heading back to SCP tomorrow and talk to my Tiffany SA, Cassandra, who btw, is really nice and helpful. She has three different DBTY solitaires on hold for me. I'm leaning towards the DBTY this minute. I'll know for sure though when I see the two designs side by side.

Question to those who voted for DBTY, were you referring to the original Tiffany design or any diamond pendant with bezel setting. I just realized that I wasn't specific about this when I set up the poll. I had the Tiffany design in mind, however, when I started the thread.

Ahertz, I'm certain that bluenile dbty necklace in white gold looks just as beautiful as anything from a powder blue box. What a smart buy!

So unless you really care about the blue box or Tiffany diamond certificate I don't see the purpose of buying the actual Elsa Peretti DBTY. Wendy, at bluenile, you can choose the exact specs you wish your diamond to be.

Unless you're having some SERIOUS second thoughts I'd just keep what you have and buy a 1/3 carat blue nile dbty style necklace later. Post some modeling pics. Flaunt what you got. It must be sparkly!

We posted at the same time and I didn't see you post, Tiffantsilver! Thanks for the great advice. Honestly, I really can't make up my mind. On one hand, I think the mark up on Tiffany is crazy. On the other hand, I prefer the finish on Tiffany pieces. I have a platinum cross from Bluenile and IMHO, the work reflects the price point.

No prob, Wendy! Thank you for asking for and appreciating our opinions!

I agree with you. I don't see bluenile doing anything wrong with a bezel-set solitaire, but prong-set diamonds in a circle pendant would definitely benefit from Tiffany workmanship. I've seen versions in mall stores (rogers, jared, etc.) and they're a phantom of their true blue counterpart.

No matter which style you choose, I'm glad you're going with Tiffany's. You obviously have and eye for detail - and they will give you peace of mind.

I'm trying to attach a picture of my .33 Bezel Diamond Necklace in YG from Bluenile, but this is just a lousy picture from my cameraphone.

It came out to around $600 and is honestly indistinguishable from its Tiffany counterpart, which I looked at also. I was wearing it at the 5th Avenue Tiffanys last month while I was looking at the 36" DBTY and the SA had no idea! He kept complimenting me on it. It's the same 16" chain and I wear it every day (such a nice casual piece).

I'm 5'8" and I get compliments on it ALL the time. Mine is an Ideal cut J color, S12 clarity and it still sparkles like crazy. Love love love!

Sorry It's so hard to see! But I guess if you're buying the .33, you already know what it looks like... I'm having a hard time figuring out how to upload (never done it before)

Thank you girls! I ended up exchanging the open circle for DBTY. It's been two days and I can't stop thinking about the open circle... Gosh, this is so much harder than I thought. The DBTY pendant actually flips up when I look up. With my oily skin, the diamond gets dirty really quickly.

Now I'm thinking maybe I should get the open circle from Tiffany and order the DBTY from white flash with a 16.5 in chain.
