Isn't there only one cut available at Tiffany?

Yes, you want the best cut you can, Ideal or Excellent. Without the best cut, it won't sparkle. There's no need to really go that high in clarity, and will allow your budget to stretch more. You can pretty much figure that you are looking at roughly 25K usd outlay for a 1.5 ct stone. If you can go UNDER that mark like a 1.48 or something it will save you money, believe it or not. The even numbers carry a premium. 1ct stones at Tiffany tend to run right around 10k as a median number, obviously better cut, color and clarity will come with a higher premium than an H-I/VS2. I saw a 1.15 H VS2 about a year ago that was 15,000.

If you are willing to sidestep the brand, start your own thread on here with some specifications and your budget and we can help you find something through an online vendor who can ship to you where you are presently stationed.

They have several SHAPES, but as far as their rounds specifically, they hand select what THEY think are ideal and excellent cut quality, despite that not always being the case. They have sold some dogs. You want to ask for a stone with a GIA or AGS grading report, I personally don't trust the tiffany grading report. They may claim to be on par, but it's not a legit lab as far as I am concerned, they can call it whatever the hell they want to make you pay whatever they want you to pay for a stone.

ame, is the 1.15 H VS2 you saw from US? $15000 sounds really expensive to me. I just saw another thread and for 1.04 G VS2 Soleste is under $14000 right now in the states.

Did that 1.15 H VS2 SPARKLE like crazy to you? I am quessing it's so expensive cuz of the 3EX and it might be an ideal diamond?

It's that expensive because Tiffany's made it that price. Not because it was any better of a cut. I didn't think it was anything "special" in terms of cut. They had a 1.09 g vs2 that was about 1500$ cheaper that I thought was much nicer in terms of cut quality.

I have to second Ame's solid comments: Tiffany is a solid respectable company BUT what you are buying there carries one of the highest premiums in the world for an in-house graded B level stone. Again, not to bash Tiffany but if one's goal is a top level stone in terms of cut at a competitive price then it is not the place to go. If you only want Tiffany because you want to own the brand then that is a different story. They are a behemoth public company and the quality is solid but it is not about buying the best quality for your money it would be about buying the brand.
