Thanks for all your answers!

Does anyone have the Tiffany Setting in 0,9 carat? I'd love to see some pictures!!

@ Delansify

Of course I'll show you a picture if you give me your email adress (I've tried to upload the picture here but the file is too big) I absolutely LOVE the flower ring.. it's soo beautiful! :)

I love my Tiffany flower ring too, though instead of a right hand ring, I wear it on my left middle finger and it works out perfectly for me. :smile1:

Yes, you want the best cut you can, Ideal or Excellent. Without the best cut, it won't sparkle. There's no need to really go that high in clarity, and will allow your budget to stretch more. You can pretty much figure that you are looking at roughly 25K usd outlay for a 1.5 ct stone. If you can go UNDER that mark like a 1.48 or something it will save you money, believe it or not. The even numbers carry a premium. 1ct stones at Tiffany tend to run right around 10k as a median number, obviously better cut, color and clarity will come with a higher premium than an H-I/VS2. I saw a 1.15 H VS2 about a year ago that was 15,000.

If you are willing to sidestep the brand, start your own thread on here with some specifications and your budget and we can help you find something through an online vendor who can ship to you where you are presently stationed.

Thanks for your quick answer Ame!

I think she really wants a Tiffyny e-ring and I wanna make her happy so Tiffany is N1. choice at the moment. She still has plenty of time to change her mind but i don't believe she's gonna do that :D

It don't have to be exactly 1.5ct. Something between. 1 and 1.5ct is fine :)

What sucks is how unwilling they are to work with you from afar. Is there a Tiffany's store ANYWHERE near you or will you be in the states? I have a feeling it would be a lot cheaper if you got it in the states. I say cheaper, but that's simply compared to purchasing from Tiffany's overseas...

You can maybe call the NYC store and tell them you're stationed overseas and are starting the process and could use a little help from afar. I am pretty sure that they will work with you that way.

I have a friend who bought a .92 carat e color tiffany setting and she has small hands, it looked beautiful on her. I had an 1.06 tiffany setting and upgraded to 1.80 years later. The tiffany diamonds are beautifully cut.

Since you are buying such an expensive item. I agree with ame I would make it a trip and call ahead to have them pull a few rings for you to choice. You would only need to make one trip. It's worth the trip to get something that you absolutely love.

We have Tiffany stores in Europe but not here in Finland. I've bought something from Tiffany from London, Rome, Florida and Georgia and it's a way cheaper in US. So I think I'm gonna get it there. :)

Kpai: I'm definitely gonna take a trip to US when this ****ty military service is over. Yes, it's mandatory here and I love every second of it. What a great waste of time!

I think it's TOTALLY rad, and romantic to let her select from a few in your price range. In fact, if you can set up an appointment as a surprise, and have a salesperson pick a bunch out in your price range to let her choose from, that would be SO FUN. Take her to a totally nice lunch, go to the big T, then to Central Park...romantic!

I'm size 2.5. Good for my solitaire but bad for my channel set ring. My channel set has been sized down to a 3 (that's the smallest they would go as the band has to hold the melee diamonds) and it's too big for me  I'm afraid to lose my wedding ring when I don't have my solitaire ring to hold it in. But that also means I get a new ring on top of my wedding band if I don't wanna wear my engagement one :) Anyway this was for OP looking for Tiffany setting. I'll start a new thread on that one when I have photos :)

OMG, you have tiny fingers! Your ring is absolutely beautiful.

Definetely gonna do that. We were In Florida together last March and she totally loved the place so it's either gonna be trip together or no trip at all :D

I totally second Ame's suggestion to call ahead. Even if you don't want her to be involved with the selection, be sure to call the Tiffany store at least a week or two in advance and give them your specs so that they can have a few rings in store to view. Each store carries only a very small selection (~5 or fewer) and since this ranges from ~0.2cts to 3cts and beyond, they may only have 1 or 2 (if any!) in your price range. It'd be a shame to come all that way and leave empty handed or worse, leave with a ring that was too expensive or not your ideal just to be able to get something. It usually takes a few days to ship store to store so prepare ahead of time. Good luck!
