These price increases to me are not justified. Going from 10k to 17k for a gold necklace as someone posted here after a few years is just greedy. i imagine they have alienated many clients. It was a mistake for Tiffany to let lvmh take over. Luxury brands these days are different from what they used to be. It seems they’re all about making money. And we should not be fooled into thinking most of these items are unique or special. They’re really mass produced meaning there’s more than a handful made. Lvmh may hit sales goals in china this year but things are really slowing down elsewhere. People are getting priced out but beyond that some people don’t think the prices are worth paying.
Couldn't agree more...I do feel they are getting what they want, I actually think they want a new customer base...

Sheeeeshhhh. That’s huge!

I asked my SA on Saturday to help lock in the price of the sixteen stone ring for me. It went from $10,500 to $11,200. That’s an understandable price increase to me. Still, I wasn’t planning on buying that piece so soon. But I guess it’s happening now. I’m paying for it when my repair comes back in to the store.

Now I feel like I should’ve bought the Bird on a Rock (30k to 50k) last year, instead of the Victoria bracelet (44k to 46k). To me, it doesn’t make sense that the Schlumberger prices are increasing so much. Makes me feel like my Victoria bracelet, which I already thought I was overpaying for, is now the less valuable piece of jewelry. Everyone said the Victoria bracelet was the better buy than the brooch, but I’m having buyer’s remorse now.
Bird on a rock went from $30,000 in 2021 Q1, to $50,000 in 2021 Q3, to $75,000 in 2022, to $90,000 in 2023.

Victoria alternating bracelet went from $46,000 in 2022, to $55,000 in 2023.

Gold scorpion necklace went from $12,000 in 2021, to $20,000 in 2022, to $28,000 in 2023.

Sixteen stone ring went from $11,200 in 2022, to $12,500 in 2023.

I can’t believe the bird on a rock has tripled in price. The fact it’s now basically worth double the amount of the Victoria bracelet, when Victoria was the formerly more expensive collection.

I agree, and guys, Tiffany's current gold pieces are hollow (ask your SA if you doubt it). I only hunt for vintage now, those were solid. Tiffany justifies it "the bracelet would be too heavy" if it were made solid. Really? Let me decide as a customer who pays $20K for a bracelet if it's "too heavy". At least Cartier is still solid, not hollow to the best of my knowledge.
Really?? I'm considering getting RTT heart tag necklace in gold at the end of the month, even though it's now 100,00 EUR more than a week ago. I can't imagine the heart Tag being hollow though.....
I've been deciding between this necklace or Cartier love wedding band ( would be my first piece). Still not sure but now with all these increases leaning more towards a Love wedding band.

RTT Tag in gold is solid, it's not recent collection but rather classic. there is not enough room to make the flat heart hollow. but gold Hardwear and Locks are hollow:(

Two more things that annoy me to justify constant price increases are massive celeb collaborations and now exclusive pieces that you can see but can't buy online.
For celebrities campaigns it's getting ridic, there are almost as many celebrity faces as items for sale on Tiffany's site. Each time they get paid like $4-10M (Jay Z was paid $6.5M allegedly). these collabs are always timed up with price increases. Cartier, VCA have 1 maybe 2 brand ambassadors.

Tiffany's is also pulling a new LVMH's shtick with exclusivity. Oh we have those high end watches and full baguette diamond bracelets but you can't buy them, you need to make an appointment and we will see if you have enough buying history (I DO have) so they can transfer a piece to the store maybe. Tiffany's used to be all-American brand, like you walk into the store, you like it you buy it.
