Thank you so much for sharing pics! That is a gorgeous piece!!!!! Is it double bracelet because of the size of the stone?

Ooppps... I quoted the wrong post :)

Not really...I requested a double bracelet. I thought it would look better with the size of the stone. :D That is what I really love about Brian Gavin, they are more custom and you can change their designs to suit your style/needs.

Hi, I have been a lurker on TPF for awhile! I have researched purses here, and I am a big jewelry lover so have to browse this part of the forum!

I saw this thread and it caused me to register! I just got some quotes from WhiteFlash this week on DBTY bracelets and necklaces! Their quality of diamonds is the same as BG. I have bought from both in the past, but I usually use WF as I have had such great service there and often their prices come in a little lower.

But anyway. about a week ago, I went to Tiffany's to try on the bracelets to help me decide on size of stones, Then I contacted WhiteFlash for quotes. I couldn't believe how much less they were than Tiffany! I do have some Tiffany pieces and I love finding pre-loved pieces in excellent condition. But for a design like a DBTY, I know I can get equal or likely better quality from WhiteFlash. So I do recommend getting quotes from both!

I would 100% go with BGD. The quality will be better for less money. To me, that's a no brainer, but everyone values different things, and I guess I don't value the Tiffany name as much as some. Either way you will get a gorgeous piece, but I like to get the best deal I can!

As a past WF customer, my experience with them is that their diamonds might be amazing, but I found their workmanship to be horrible and their customer service, especially if there's an issue, was equally horrendous. Some others had great experiences with them, but mine were a nightmare.

Yes, I think all vendors have a few instances of people who were unhappy. I have bought several things from WF and I already have one DBTY and they are perfect. In getting quotes in the past, the ones from BG were almost always higher for the same thing, so I usually use WF now. In addition, when I did have BG custom make something for me, the bench did not follow the work order as written and others have had that experience. But as I said, if you look, you'll find mostly happy customers and a few that are unhappy with both.

Yea, I noticed some complaints when I was in my research phase too. But I have never used them, so can't say first hand. But it made my decision easier.:D

Yea that's quite fair pricewise for a custom piece, especially if you use Tiffany as a "comparison". To note::: Their stones will be to the correct dimensions for stones of that carat weight. Tiffany's uses deliberately shallow stones that are "spreadier" in those designs, in part for less "stabbiness" but also to make them look larger in the bezel. So be prepared for that if you hold them side by side.

AME thanks for saying this-- it helps a lot, because I honestly qpuldve wondered about this once I had the Big piece in hand. I woudlve been running to Tiffany and wondering why their stone looks bigger.

Does that make BG diamonds less sparkly than he Tiffany ones? I understand cut has a lot to do with brilliance, but does depth affect it significantly?

What a fun dilemma! :smile1:

I will be the dissenting voice here - I have 1 BGD DBTY bracelet and 2 T&Co DBTY bracelets, and I much prefer the T&Co bracelets mainly because of the fine-ness of their bezels. BGD's bezels have great workmanship but they're simply thicker, which is not what I prefer (though it's personal preference).

That said, if you've got your heart set on BGD because of value and price, those are great reasons to go with him! I found their service to be solid.

Hope that helps! You ultimately can't go wrong either way. :flowers:
