Tiffany or Brian Gavin DBTY Bracelet?

Hi everyone! I've looked at a lot of the threads here discussing the DBTY bracelets (and other DBTY jewelry). Earlier, I was at Tiffany and tried on the 5 stone DBTY in Rose Gold (I LOVED IT!). Since Brian Gavin has been mentioned here before, I perused his site and came across this:

It's about the same tcw but it is 14k gold versus this from Tiffany:

It's such a big difference in price! I am game to pay the Tiffany price IF there really is a big difference quality wise (chain durability, sparkliness of the stones)...

Can anyone chime in on their thoughts about getting it from Brian Gavin as opposed to Tiffany?

Brian Gavin is absolutely ideal cut diamonds, even their small melee stones. I have no doubt the quality is as good if not better than Tiffany. I have several rounds from Brian Gavin and they are all AGS 0 ideal cut.

Thank you for replying! since its online and sight unseen if I purchase, it really helps to hear the opinions of those that actually own jewelry from him. I emailed them to get a quote for a custom dbty with 5 stones and approx. .50 tcw... I want to see how much the price will compare to this tiffany I posted.

Seeing you say that makes me smile as I know you've advised many on this forum about diamond selections :)

They quoted me $1300 for a custom dbty 7" rose gold chain with white gold bezels and 5 diamonds approx tcw .50 signature BG stones... that's a good quite right?

I will post a pic when I get home tonight. :smile1: In relation to your pricing questions, I paid about half that, but I had my own diamond. So it sounds reasonable to me and my bracelet was made at six inches...I don't know if that makes a difference in price. I didn't ask to be honest because I thought the quote they gave me was reasonable.

Honestly I was expecting higher. I think seeing the tiffany prices really skews my perspective on how much a dbty should be. Lol.

Yea that's quite fair pricewise for a custom piece, especially if you use Tiffany as a "comparison". To note::: Their stones will be to the correct dimensions for stones of that carat weight. Tiffany's uses deliberately shallow stones that are "spreadier" in those designs, in part for less "stabbiness" but also to make them look larger in the bezel. So be prepared for that if you hold them side by side.

Thank you so much for sharing pics! That is a gorgeous piece!!!!! Is it double bracelet because of the size of the stone?
