Thank you everyone. I'm leaning towards the 1.85 E VS1.

Antique Shopper-it probably is because your account hasn't been upgraded yet. Thanks for trying hopefully it works in two days.

Go for the 1.85... you won't be able to tell the difference in colour once it's on your finger and dirty from every day wear.... honestly, go for the size. The cut will be amazing since it's Tiffany, so you won't have to worry about that part.

^^ exactly! the two rings you are talking about are almost 20k price difference!
anyway, make sure the diamond is Excellent Excellent Excellent, that's how tiffany's rate the cut

queenvictoria2- My budget allows for 1.85 but I wanted to make sure it was worth the price difference that's why I am considering the second one. I'm going to try both on, but I am pretty decided on the 1.85 as I want to get as close 2 carats as possible.
Kissmark- I don't know very much about cut. Does anyone know what cuts Tiffany sells.

when they let you look at the diamond's stats, there will be ratings for cut, polish, symmetry (not sure if i left off anything else). just try to get excellent on all if possible. the range is from excellent, very good, good i think.

I would go for the largest stone over the color. F-G-H are all still very white. Stand alone, I bet you can not see any yellow.

Me too! I have a 1.26 classic setting in G colour and could have gone up to 1.5 almost in an I (which is still really beautiful and anything Tiffany's sells will be gorgeous!!) ... but decided that I COULD in fact see the SLIGHT colour in an I when held up to a D, but couldn't really see it in the G compared to the D - and if I couldn't, then that's all I cared about!! I would have been really happy with the I too, but find mine to be almost colourless and very sparkly!!! Anything over an F is for sure going to be almost colourless and very hard to see with the naked eye. I also could have gone with an F but would have had to been smaller and at that point felt that the G was totally colourless enough for me! :)

Also keep in mind Tiffany's errs on the side of a lower rating if it's on the cusp... in other words, if mine was a high colour F they'd more likely rate it G than F to be on the conservative side. (they are not aggressive when it comes to grading). SO some people might even classify mine as an F.

Here's my lovely G 1.26 for you! :) Honestly staring at it now and I cannot see ANY colour whatsoever myself!!

So it seems I have a larger budget than I originally thought so its between 1.68 H VVS2 for 31,000 or a 1.85 E VS1 for 49,700. What do you ladies think?

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not sure you're going to notice *that* much of a difference between 1.68 and 1.85. Is there nothing else in between that they can bring in for you?

When my Fiance took me to Tiffanys to "look around" before he popped the question, we looked at a 1.76, 1.81 and a 2.02 carat solitaires and if you put them next to each other you can DEFINITELY see the difference.

He opted for the 1.76 since it had better gradings. I'm 5.3, ring size 3.75 and it looks perfect...if he had bought the 2.02 it would have looked too big...especially for someone my age ;)

When I'm older we'll get an upgrade..

Babilu I just saw your ring on another post and it is gorgeous. You said "it would have looked to big...especially for someone my age" if you don't mind me asking how old are you? I'm 21 and I got criticism on another forum/website for even saying I was looking at a Tiffany Legacy because of my age, which I think is ridiculous and unfortunate. I really appreciate that on TPF you can come on ask questions and getter answers instead of being attacked.

I know what you mean about the other forums. Some people are so rude! I LOVE the Legacy ring! It's a gorgeous design! You are a lucky girl! =)

I'm 23, turning 24 in a few weeks ;)
But you mentioned you are 5'7 (jealouuus!) and have a 5.5 ring size so I think the 1.86 would look perfect on you!

Congratulations on getting a legacy they are beautiful! I want a Novo/Legacy myself and have been wondering about size. Right now only a 1 carat is really in the right price range and since I'm 5'9" 125 pounds I am afraid that it might look small on me.
