Tiffany gold - I'm tempted by someone's preloved stuff but is it legit?

My gold lock also came in a blue pouch. This was at least six years ago and this year when I purchased my gold dot pendant, it was also presented in a blue pouch.

I had a recent unpleasant ebay experience....I was bored one evening and happened to see some earrings...

They were described as such:
Description:
A 100% Authentic Pre-Owned Tiffany & Co Sterling Silver Mexico Puffed Heart Earrings

Weight: 2.9 grams
Markings: TIFFANY & CO. 925 MEXICO
Condition: Excellent Condition. 9 out of 10

They were quite pretty...so I thought, what the heck. I spent $129. So when they arrived the had the most bizarre feel to them. Didn't even remotely feel like sterling silver....with the backings, they hardly weighed 2 grams, which I find strange. I put them in and my ears, and immediately they began to hurt...this also seemed strange, as no other Tiffany silver earrings have bothered me.

I am not familiar enough with these earrings to for sure say they were fake...but I sent them back today and asked for a refund.

Someone at work is selling the gold RTT heart lock and gold 1837 bar earrings, apparently a never worn gift, for $500.

I'm a bit suspicious - dont know this lady, the RRP is $3300, and I'm not sure i believe the story of them simply being that her daughter thinks they are "too plain."

Waiting on photos but still not sure i can authenticate them. No papers, and the nearest store is 4 hours away.

I'm tempted - snap me out of it ladies! It's too good a deal to be true, right?

At the very least you can take them to any reputable jeweler and have them gold tested before committing to buying.

I would just pass and not waste anymore of her time or yours. The ziploc baggie looks a little sketch to me, but the fact that the Tiffany wording looks printed on the pouches, and the font looks off, kind of condensed, and not embossed like it should be is the big decider. My pouches are embossed.
