Yellow everyone,
I'm so excite that my boyfriend and I are doing searches with Tiffany's to find the perfect engagement ring.

Has anybody seen them in person at Tiffany's? I don't really think I'm comfortable with an sI but for me it's between the following:
1.32 F sI1
Or
1.04 I vvs2

Any opinions will help :)
Of course it's not up to me in the end!
Thanks guys!

Apparently they do exist! My sa told me they hand-pick eye-clean si1 clarity stones. I'd look at both first to see the sparkle factor. That's my main criteria!

Has anyone seen them in person? The fact that it's an F I'm wondering if that makes a difference.
Would anyone be uncomfortable with an SI? I don't think I'd consider it anywhere other than Tiffany's.

This really depends on you. You may consider asking for diagram inclusion view from NY and view it yourself with a 10x loop. I mean if you can't see with a loop, maybe its good decision. With Tiffany's you get one upgrade so good decision to begin with. Congrats! The smaller the diamond the less vvs it needs BC its small you don't need vvs IMO cuz can't see anyway. I'd do 1 carat si1 I color or 1.3 I color vs2, how does that change the price for you? Ask your SA and as always no rush, happy hunting.

SI is eye clean. I'm pretty much comfortable with anything in the SI range when classified correctly. F color is fine in my book but if you're worried just go to a jewelry store and ask to see a stone in that color so you have a better idea what it looks like.

OMG I'd go with the F for sure! I would want to inspect it in person but as long as it's eye clean I'm sure TIffany's would pick a good one! I guess it depends how colour sensitive you are too... I'd pick out an I right away. Clarity isn't nearly as important as cut and colour. :) Plus it's BIGGER! Mine is VS2 from Tiffany's 1.5 classic cut and TOTALLY eye clean - I've looked in a loupe too and can't see a feather!

a 1.04 I vvs2 is a very bad choice in my opinion. you pay a high premium for vvs and couple with I color its a very poor value in terms of selling or trading it later --which you may never do but it doesnt change the fact that most peple would rather a high color and the lowest possible clarity grade. typically in terms of value the color and clarity are best not to be too far apart.

The 1.3 is actually more expensive then the 1.04, by a lot actually. So I think my boyfriend will have to look at them and the decision. We might call a store to see if they have an sI we can look at just to see.
Would anyone feel weird having an sI?

My diamonds are Tiffany and H, VVS. I love the clarity and the ring usually looks super white and sparkly. There's a few lighting conditions where I can see some tint, so if I were you I'd look at G, VS1 or G, VVS.

If you keep your ring perfectly clean, I don't think the VVS is a waste. I've been surprised from compliments on how "clear" my diamonds are!

I'm going to call the yorkdale store as its closer to me in Toronto and see if they have an SI to look at. I wonder if they pair SI's with a higher colour on purpose? I'm not that good with colour and clarity and what they each do etc however I did go to spence once and looked at an SI1 and was totally comfortable. So maybe it is the better choice?
I'm just confused because its actually 6000 more!

Those are the two within the budget that we liked. I fell in love with a 1.22 and that's what we wanted but they did two searches for us and there isn't anything we like other than those two.

Also there isn't an sI near me but the lady I spoke to said that they only pick the best of the best and an SI from tiffanys has an extremely high standard.

I'm still so confused.
