Tiffany Enamel Pieces and Durability

I have a Tiffany charm bracelet and one of the charms I had on it was the blue Tiffany box. After just a few weeks I noticed that the corners of the box were showing wear and the silver underneath was showing through. I took it back to the store and the SA let me exchange it for the plain sterling silver box instead. She said the enamel pieces do better on necklaces rather than bracelets. She said when the enamel is constantly hitting other charms/things in the environment the enamel will wear away easily. I did have the yellow lemon charm that I was planning on adding to my bracelet eventually but she said the same thing would end up happening to that too so I needed to exchange. I now will just stick to sterling silver on my bracelet but I would get something enamel to work alone as a pendent.

Thank you for the info. This is what I was thinking... I would be concerned if I was wearing it on my charm bracelet...

Oh and pepperminttea wanted me to post this, so here ya go!
This is a couple of pics of my tiny porcelin Tiffany Blue box. I used my white gold Trinity ring to show that it can hold a few small things!

I really like the blue box charm too! I cannot believe it is $300 now; a few years ago, it used to be $150 because my SO and I bought it for his mum. I was also seriously considering the london taxi, since I have dual citizenship with the UK (my mum is British).
Would either one of these work? I would put it on an 18" chain so that I could wear it with a shorter necklace.
Are these quirky and fun, or too young to wear?

Wow its $300! I bought my blue box for $150 almost 3 years ago and I haven't had any issues with it but I don't wear it daily. I have the pink cupcake that I wear a lot more and its probably a year or so old and that is still fine. I think if your careful with your jewelry you won't have problems.

I agree. I hear that Tiffany's is raising their prices again!!! Either end of January/beginning of February... So even though I just dropped $$$ on a VCA piece, I really want to get a charm from Tiffany's before that gets ridiculous too!

Another increase! Its going to get to the point where Tiffany silver is the same price as a Jewelers gold (Day's, Kay's). At this point I would rather have the gold. I wonder if any of the new (future) collections will have any price points of $150 like they used to.

DH bought this for me for christmas and its simply adorable! I also have the large clear glass box which is very nice!
