Hi everyone. Have you ever seen tiffany diamonds with polish and symmetry is GOOD grade only? As i can see on the original tiffany diamond certificate is . 80 cts. H Vs1. I dont see the cut grade. So what is the cut grade andwill it sparkle in real life since polish and symmetry just good?. Thank you.

Hello ame. Thank you for your answer. I saw "good" on original Tiffany Cert. So I think they graded in house. Dont have GIA Cert. I contacted to seller for more infor and will post later. Why on some Tiffany's certificates dont have cut grade. Do you know?

Because Tiffanys considers anything they sell to be ideal. They grade many of their own stones and frankly I completely discount that because they can make it up to be whatever they want it to be. If it doesn't come with a GIA I don't usually give that stone a consideration.

Also--their cert will have the angles on it. So either this seller is witholding that info (get all the info off the cert--a photo/scan of it ideally--and call Tiffany's to confirm it) or they don't have a Tiffany cert. Are you buying from a private seller?

Come on Ame, that's simply not true. Stones they grade will certainly range from Excellent to Very Good to Good.

OP - I just looked at my Tiffany Certificate. On the left side the line items should be (sounds like yours is missing "Precision of Cut" ??):
Shape
Cut
Measurements
Carat Weight
Color Grade
: picture of color scale:
Flourescence
Presence
Precision of Cut
Polish
Symmetry
Clarity Grade
: picture of clarity scale:
Crown Inscription
Girdle Inscription

I would be weary of anything that claims to be Tiffany but has a different certificate. Get as many details as possible, including Crown Inscription. Mine starts with T&Co. J.... The right half of the certificate contains angles and percents. Get those numbers to determine true cut grade. Perhaps the ring you're looking at was purchased a long time ago and they've since changed their certificate format? I don't know, just buyer beware. Good luck! :smile1:

You're right. My bias kicked in there. Though I have yet to encounter anything other than an Excellent or Very Good.

But this poster absolutely needs ALL data on this. I asked who the seller was as well.

Hello ame. Thank you for great information. Seller told me she will email me all of numbers on the Cert today when she get home. Yes, i am buying the ring from private seller. She is original owner of the ring since 1999. She sent me the pic but it focus to the ring more than the cert so I cant see any further infor except VS1. H color. Polish good, symymetry good.
I have another question may I ask? How different between cut grade is (good, very good, excellent) vs round brilliant?
