IME usually .4 and higher. For engagement rings it starts smaller usually. But that's MY experience.

When I went to choose a diamond pendant from Tiffanys I also looked at the regular solitaire pendant and to my surprise they carried J coloured stones, SI. I had no idea! I thought they only carried up to I colour stones.

That may be a recent change that started with the Novo. I wouldn't hesitate to get a J colored stone. But cut trumps all. If it's not cut well, forget it.

Does anyone know if it is true that Tiffany put a better grade diamond on the platinum setting vs rose gold or gold? Just curious. Thanks!
