Tiffany & Co. : The hardest desicion ever! Solitaire or DBTY!

I wanted a DBTY from Tiffany until I saw them at the boutique and it was such a small stone and of course, very expensive. I ended up with nearly a half-carat solitaire, and a really great stone, in white gold from Blue Nile for far less money. I love it and wear it often. I agree with others here who think you can get a solitaire from elsewhere for less money. Good luck in your search and with your decision!

I really searched other stores but in Berlin(I live in Berlin) there is no store, who sells nice diamonds with good quality [emoji31] they were not shining and (I don't know why) they always have a very thick chain.

Best to save and buy what you really want. Otherwise, you'll end up spending more in the long run trying to find your "holy grail". YKWIM?

Have you considered trying to buy your necklace from an online vendor? Someone here had mentioned they had good experience with Blue Nile. I also saw that JamesAllen.com is running a 15% off sale. They look like they have some nice preset pendants. I haven't bought from either of these websites, but I heard other people have had some good experiences. I'm not sure how how shipping and returns work with these websites outside of the USA, though......

I am gonna check definitely, thanks... :)

Or does anyone know, how can I stop the dbty necklaces sliding? I am not joking about it. It always goes to my shoulder [emoji30] I already extended 6 cm.

LOL! Are you running, jumping around, and doing cartwheels? Just kidding! :D

Sometimes the tags at the neckline at the back of my shirts get caught on my necklace and make it ride up and move around. Maybe make sure the shirt tags don't touch the necklace?

Also, since you got your necklace extended, the diamond should definitely not flip. That usually happens when the chain is too short.

Yes, diamond is not flipping but it is never at the center. [emoji20] every fifteen minutes I have to make it right again. It is almost going to back of my neck. When I look at the mirror, I can't see it.

And don't have tags on my clothes, because I am allergic to them and I have to cut them.

And yes I know, I am always changing my mind :D I do like dbty but it never stays still [emoji31]

My vote goes for dbty. Much more nicer and elegant than solitaire. I think solitaire turns around sometimes, thats annoying.
And please post pic when You decide :)

I was also going to go with the one that does not flip around. You may have to try them on to see what is comfortable and doesn't flip. It is a hard decision and it may help to see them in person.

Actually I am really confused now [emoji55] I don't like thin bezel but I don't wanna buy a rg again because it will look so similar with the old one. And platinum is much more expensive than gold. I can get a bigger diamond in gold one (it make me feel like I am paying more for nothing). And YG bezels are thin too. [emoji31] and silver tarnishes. Really, is silver tarnishing a lot or just a little bit? What do you think? Platinum worth it? Is thin bezel flipping a lot or is it looking to up or down? (Because pyramid of diamond is not in bezel area)

Another option...did you see this BGD:

It is a little different than the regular bezel setting.

I thought I'd weigh in on this. I have a half carat diamond solitaire hello gold pendant bought years ago from a reputable jeweler. From time to time, I change out the chain on the pendant for a whole new look. One time, I went for a shorter, heavier chain. Another time a longer chain. It gives a fresh look to a treasured stone. This alone makes it a great choice compared to DBTY.
I've got the DBTY look covered as well but, it's not from Tiffany and it's a multi stone necklace totaling about a carat.

Are your diamonds on the multistone necklace flipping? I saw someone, who says, "in one diamond necklace you can fix this problem with extended chain but in multistone necklace it is harder to fix and this time all diamonds are flipping, cause of that I gave it back" I don't remember in which forum I read this but she had 5 diamonds necklace. Is that true?

Oh yes, they are constantly flipping around and very rarely are all 7 of them facing up. Not all bezel settings are created equally and the nicer ones look almost as pretty in the flipped position as in the correct position. I think Tiffany does a good job of having a setting that allows the stones to look pretty whichever way they fall.

Thanks for the information [emoji4] then maybe I can consider about a multistone necklace after having a really good single diamond necklace.

There is another deal people! Rose gold solitaire or dbty. But don't forget I have already a dbty in rose gold (0.14 ct) But there is a price difference (100 Euros more for solitaire) this time. What do you think? Should I buy the same thing in different size or different size and bezel?

ps: I looked for solitaire diamond in other stores but I learned, that the diamonds they have haven't perfect cut. (Cause of that tiffany diamonds look much more bigger.) And the chains of them (I don't know why) were so thick. I didn't like them. If I buy one of them, probably I won't wear it.

So... look at the pictures and let me know please
