Actually I am really confused now [emoji55] I don't like thin bezel but I don't wanna buy a rg again because it will look so similar with the old one. And platinum is much more expensive than gold. I can get a bigger diamond in gold one (it make me feel like I am paying more for nothing). And YG bezels are thin too. [emoji31] and silver tarnishes. Really, is silver tarnishing a lot or just a little bit? What do you think? Platinum worth it? Is thin bezel flipping a lot or is it looking to up or down? (Because pyramid of diamond is not in bezel area)

There is another deal people! Rose gold solitaire or dbty. But don't forget I have already a dbty in rose gold (0.14 ct) But there is a price difference (100 Euros more for solitaire) this time. What do you think? Should I buy the same thing in different size or different size and bezel?

ps: I looked for solitaire diamond in other stores but I learned, that the diamonds they have haven't perfect cut. (Cause of that tiffany diamonds look much more bigger.) And the chains of them (I don't know why) were so thick. I didn't like them. If I buy one of them, probably I won't wear it.

So... look at the pictures and let me know please :)

I have the platinum solitaire in the .17ct, it may not be the largest of stones but sparkles like mad and the Tiffany setting works perfectly. Yes, I could have gotten a larger stone elsewhere but I had my heart set on a Tiffanys diamond! I paid £870 for it back in 2012 and I love it!

I prefer the bezel. I am actually picking up a pendant tomorrow from a local jeweler that I had converted from a basket-type solitaire pendant to a Tiffany-like bezel. The diamond is quite a bit bigger than Tiffany's DBTY (.33 carat) so it'll look different but I am so excited. I find the bezel much more modern. My diamond was handed down to me and I know I'll wear it all the time now that I got it re-set!

i have both, a CBTY and a 0.12 carat diamond sparkle set in platinum, i really like the setting in the solitaire as it makes my tiny sparkle look light
here they are together

the plus with the DBTY is that it stays in place, my spark tends to go wondering as it is not fixed on the chain

Always prefer the bezel. I feel you cant get a solitaire from other jewellery stores..

Yes, I can't, because Tiffany&Co. Diamonds are sparkling perfectly and the diamonds in the other stores aren't. But I just figured out dbty necklace is looking nicer with a smaller diamond. And dbty is always sliding. Sometimes I am really tired of it. Probably I will buy the classic solitaire necklace.

I have rg dbty but it slides around my neck always! I tried everything, shorter and longer chain but nothing works. I think so, I will buy classic solitaire like your platinum one.

My YG 0.27ct DBTY slides around a little, too. I also have a 0.50ct diamond solitaire necklace in a basket setting and it also moves a bit. If you want your pendant to stay stationary, you will need to make sure the setting is heavier, i.e. it has more gold in the setting to weigh it down. HTH

I just remembered that Tiffany has different shapes for their DBTY necklace. The bezels are thicker too which might minimize the diamond from moving around. They have them in pear and heart shapes. I had tried on the heart shape in store last year. It was nice.

I checked them but they are much more pricey. The heart pendant is 0.17 ct and 1900€ but 0,25 solitaire diamond (classic solitaire or dbty, same price) is 1950€. Prefer to buy a bigger diamond actually.

Yes, the higher price is due to the amount of gold they use. I thought the diamond actually looked bigger due to the setting. Also, I just noticed that the pear necklace has a bale. All the other DBTY's are on a fixed chain. Interesting. :thinkin:

I went with the original style DBTY because I like the classic look. Maybe down the road, I will get one of the newer designs. I liked the weightiness of the pendant. Unless you get a REALLY big diamond, the necklace will move up and around.

Good luck in your search. Which necklace are you thinking of getting next?

Not dbty again because I have extend it (0.14 ct, rose gold, thicker bezel) to stop it's flipping. And it moves around my neck so much (after 2 hours it is on my shoulder (seriously), if i don't make it right again)

Probably classic solitaire in yellow gold or platinum, with a bigger stone than 0.3 ct. Maybe 0.4 ct. Now I am saving money :)

I wanted a DBTY from Tiffany until I saw them at the boutique and it was such a small stone and of course, very expensive. I ended up with nearly a half-carat solitaire, and a really great stone, in white gold from Blue Nile for far less money. I love it and wear it often. I agree with others here who think you can get a solitaire from elsewhere for less money. Good luck in your search and with your decision!
