Anyone know if these locks are hollowed out at the back?

I bought this one in gold about $300. I returned it because it is so small. It's not hollow at the back. It is solid. It's just so tiny.

I really like the fact how they open and close (so I've heard). That way you can wear it on a bracelet or a necklace
