Tiffany & Co. Color By The Yard (CBTY)?

Ok just noticed my typo... I meant the 0.12! That's enough for me I think! The 0.08 would do me nicely too though.
Have you considered a yellow or rose gold DBTY if that's the metal colour you would usually wear?

I'm with mills - if you have the rose gold earrings why not go with a rose gold necklace?
My daughter has the silver .07 and it is a nice size and there is also the three diamond drop necklace in rose gold and three diamond "in line" version if you want to save up and have a bit more sparkle.

I had the same problem with the Tiffany Tanzanite. I went into the store and wanted to get the Elsa Peretti DBTY earrings. I first purchased a diamond one and then wanted something in color. I saw the Tanzanite online and it was such a beautiful deep color that I asked my SA to order it for me. When I received it, it was nothing like in the pictures. It was so pale that you couldn't even make out the color. I was really disappointed. I took it back to the store and showed it to my SA. Even she was shocked. She told me she could order it again and specify dark color, but I didn't want to take a chance and have to go back to the store again to return another one.

When I mentioned how pale the tanzanite was at the store, the SA said they were all the same color. No mention of being able to get a darker one when I asked :(

The 0.12 sounds about right! :p I used to have a 0.12ct YELLOW gold DBTY, but it was a gift from the ex husband and I sold it on eBay during our divorce to fund my earrings! If I remember correctly, the 0.12 cutlet poked me a little when I wore it and became annoying (like my ex husand, ironically :giggles: ...) so I was planning to go down to the 0.08 to avoid being poked.

I purchased a ROSE gold bean last year around Christmas to wear with my DBTY earrings, but found that rose gold blends into my skin tone and looks a bit "off". I have a LOT of pink in my skin, especially my neck and chest, and everyone kept commenting that the RG bean looked "off" and that I should have gone with yellow. I ended up returning it and buying my son an iPad for Christmas!

I HAVE been eying (and drooling over) the 3 stone RG DBTY lately... but the price tag is a HUGE jump from what I was planning to spend. I believe that price tag was $1825?

I tried on the smaller two RG DBTY single-stone necklaces in store last year, but neither was enough sparkle for me. Maybe if I save until my birthday... or until NEXT Christmas... the 3 stone DBTY in rose would be the way to go?

It would make more sense to stick with rose gold, as my earrings are RG and the two rings I had made last year from my grandmother's old rings are both RG.

Still... I'm "platinum curious"!

That is a bit disappointing isn't it, considering the picture of the item on the website is a lovely deep blue colour. :(

Hmm, maybe I should go for the 0.08 to avoid this poking issue. I was reading about that in the DBTY thread too

:useless:

Hmm... I don't have any CBTY pieces to post photos of at the moment...

Does anyone have any IRL photos of the tanzanite CBTY? I'd love to see the color, as it seems that it's not the lovely dark blue-purple as on the website.

Please, everyone, post photos of your CBTY pieces here... I'd love to see! (And, obviously, PurpleLo would too!)

I own an aqumarine cbty, and i love it. I plan on getting a diamond one in sterling silver someday in the future. I was able to pick and choose, since their were some pale ones. I found a real nice one!
I rushed and posted this for you, but i am going to check to see if this was the first aquamarine cbty or if this the deepr blue one i got, but at least here is a quick pic for you :)

Lovely!! I wish that I could wear bracelets right out of the store, but with a wrist that's slightly shy of 6" I have to have everything shortened and it takes weeks. I tend to shy away from bracelets! But the necklace and bracelet are lovely...

I have no idea why, but I'm still craving the tanzanite!! It's a similar color to the aquamarine IRL, right?

I got the aquamarine too. I wanted it in tanzanite but my store had none that day. So settled with the aquamarine. The green one was very bright maybe I should have gotten that. It takes abt three weeks in Australia to get things shortened!
