Tiffany Beads Collection: A good investment, or not worth it from Tiffanys?

I actually love the graduated necklace and I hope to be getting it next month. The graduated necklace looked better on me because I am very petite. The necklace that has all 10mm beads is better suited to a person who isn't petite. They are both beautiful IMO. I think they are classic and a modern take on the traditional pearl necklace.

I actually really like the beads collection as a whole, but I only wear the earrings and they match everything I wear. Like ... everything. I think the necklace and bracelet will look too chunky on me.

So is it worth it? To me ... yes, heh, because I would wear it all the time, and one day I can pass it down. I also have cheap replicas and let's just say there is a definite quality difference!

I must say that I am a Tiffany jewelry lover. I have the Please Return to Tiffany set, 1837 set, Atlas Collection, Tiffany Notes, Black Onyx Collection, and other tiffany pieces. I like stuff in sets so I can never buy one piece. I like their silver jewelry. Believe me if you know Tiffany then you will recognize it when you see it even if the name Tiffany does not appear. I am considering getting the bead collection myself. But I prefer to get the bead bracelet that has the RTT charm on it so you will know that it is Tiffany. If I am going to spend the money then I prefer to have the name on it so you can see that it is tiffany.;)

Ooh, very old thread that I stumbled across but wanted to add my two pennies after reading through these pages!

I personally adore the beads collection and own the graduated beads necklace - it's a fantastic modern take on the pearl necklace and adds class to an outfit I'm wearing.

Perhaps the other beads items (ex. those with the heart tags) are as distinctively Tiffany's in comparison to other collections, but I find the quality is always better. For example, i was trying on a similar 10mm sterling silver bead bracelet at a high street jewellers and to my horror, it was strung on elastic. I know even Links of London use elastic for some of their items (sweetie bracelet) but I just cannot stand the thought of wearing a material like that. I find it important to perceive the value in what I'm wearing myself first rather than wanting others to recognise the fact that it is an expensive piece.

Yet after all that, my Asian roots still show through sometimes and I'll stray towards the more obvious, designer name tagged pieces :D

I received the beads bracelet as a gift quite a few Christmases back, and I still love it to this day (it's the large beaded one...might have been 8mm back then). I think it's a classic, and while the beads are large, I team it with smaller bangles or (crystal) tennis bracelets to change the look of it when I want it a bit more playful, and wear it on its own when I want it to have the impact. Even after pretty hard wear, no dents or problems. The only thing I would say...it's quite annoying to put on by yourself!

I absolutely love the bead collection. I personally believe that the 10mm bead bracelet has been, and remains, one of Tiffany's most recognized bracelets even though there are many other retailers that sell similar bracelets. That being said, when paying Tiffany prices I tend to stick to pieces that are distinctly Tiffany, which is why I bought 10mm bead earrings online rather than at Tiffany. I absolutely adore my Tiffany 10mm bead bracelet and wouldn't trade it for any other bead bracelet on the market because there is a lot more recognizability and detail to the bracelet rather than the earrings which are a silver ball soldered to a silver post no matter where you buy them.

I have the small bead bracelet and the bigger bead bracelet. I love them both and think they are worth the money.

For the earrings, I personally do not have a pair from tiffanys but I don't think they're worth the money. I have a pair from Macy's and I don't really see how they would be too much different from the one from tiffanys. I really like my Macy's pair and I've had for them for a few years now- they've held up nicely.

I think the small bead bracelets are fantastic for stacking, whilst the 10mm or bigger ones are great as standalone statement items. All pretty in their own right :D

As for the earrings... they're lovely too but doesn't feel as unique to Tiffany as the other pieces.

I have the bead necklace (the regular one, 18.25" with 10mm beads, non-graduated) on my long-term wish list. I'd like to wear it to my PhD graduation ceremony. I think it's a great modern alternative to the traditional string of pearls, and will really stand the test of time. Like ehy210, I have a pair of non-designer SS bead studs that have treated me just fine, and I'm not so terrified to lose. I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at a gifted pair of Tiffany bead studs, though!

As far as paying more for Tiffany, I think of it as getting the piece as well as a lifetime of service. If you buy something similar from a department store, you will be paying premium at a jeweller for every little thing that goes wrong, polishing cloths, and a full replacement if the silver tarnishes or stains badly. With Tiffany, there is apparently a cleaning charge, but I've never been asked to pay that. They have always serviced items of mine and my friends' for free, and stand by their products for the lifetime of the item. Plus, if you get sick of something, you can generally sell it for not much less than you paid...which isn't true for non-branded items. I think that's worth the extra cost!
