Tiffany Beads Collection: A good investment, or not worth it from Tiffanys?

I don't think any jewelry from Tiffany's can be considered a good investment (unless vintage or one-of-a-kind). The benefit of buying Tiffany's beads is that you know they are not overly treated, many non-designer beads use dye, plastic filling, heat treatments, etc. to make the beads look higher quality, which Tiffany does not do as much (but they still do some heat treatments, etc.)

I'm sorry to disagree... I have been collecting Tiffany pieces for the last 10 years and every piece that I own.. without exception has increased in value .. some have more than doubled in price since I bought them. A poor investment? I don't know of many investments in this economy that will do that! I say stick with the real..:yahoo:

I agree, I think Tiffanys is a good investment, I look at it as something that I can pass down and its always in demand. Sure I can buy something similar at a department store but when I buy from Tiffanys I know that the service and quality will be outstanding and that it will last.

what do you all wear with the bracelet?

I wear my ball bracelet with the RTT heart charm bracelet and the thin 1837 bangle. I wear all 3, 24/7 and have been for about 3 years and I have never had a problem!

I have the Tiffany beads necklace in silver and it's one of my favorite necklaces, I love it.
I do have beads earrings, ring and bracelet as well. They are not Tiffany but I do wear them with the Tiffany necklace .

I think what cralleycat meant is that for the materials, Tiffany isn't the best price (but then again this conversation has taken place a billion times and everyone has their opinion one way or another). It's true that the retail price of Tiffany's keeps going up and up, so that would also affect the resale value. But I think in the short term, it might not be termed an "investment" piece -- for example, I received a Tiffany heart tag bracelet in college (retail $200-something these days) as a gift, and was thinking of selling it as it's not my style. However, these sell for only about $50-90 on sites like eBay. So I guess in that sense, it wouldn't be a good investment -- but on the other hand, if I hold on to it, it will always retain some value over the cost of materials because it is branded.
Sorry, that was sort of rambling! :back2topic:

Only Chinese replica bracelets and genuine articles in very poor condition resell for such a low amount on ebay. As long as you kept it in the condition you received it and the original packaging you should be able to get what you paid for it - I'm assuming $125 to $150 (sans tax, of course).
