i agree.. after a break up i sort of lose all sentimental attachment to anything. i still have a necklace my first boyfriend gave me and i wear it all the time. i dont even think of him when im wearing it, haha.

I can't wear jewelry from exes. I wish I could, but I just can't. I have a gorgeous necklace that I LOVE, that is totally my style, that an ex gave to me. But I could never wear it now without being reminded of him, and he's not someone I like to be reminded of.
I can't bear to throw it out, because it's so pretty (it's not its fault the guy who gave it to me was an ass, LOL!) I'm considering donating it, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

My grandmother told me to get mad at the guy, not the jewelry. The same applied to flowers I nearly put down the disposal once.
My ex had lovely taste. I still wear everything he bought me, as it is all quite exquisite and very much my style. While I do associate him with the jewelry, I don't necessarily think of him every time I look at my ring. It is more of a fleeting thought when I put everything on in the morning. It really doesn't bother me, though.. Then again, he's a really great person and I don't have anything to hold against him. It'd probably be another story entirely if he were a jerk.
