Thoughts on Chanel lambskin: would you get them? Any reviews on wear and tear?

My personal preference is always caviar leather, but I do own more lambskin than caviar bag simply because they look so lush and their colors pop out more.

However, I personally would not purchase light colored lambskin mini. I have one in light pink (it was a present) and I rarely wear it.

i have a black caviar CF because I'm scared of dropping that much money and potentially scratching a lambskin. I will eventually buy a lambskin CF but it'll be pre-loved - takes away some of my fear

I have a black lambskin classic flap from 8 years ago and it still looks new with zero visible scratches. I chose it over caviar bc it just looked more luxurious and felt like butter. I don’t baby it and don’t regret picking it over the caviar. To date it’s still my favorite Chanel bag compared to my caviar ones. Get what speaks to you and makes you think “ah she a beauty.”

The one lambskin item I own is a flap clutch. I love it, but I also rarely use it. And that’s the only reason why I got it in lamb. Because I knew it would be something I use every once in a while for special occasions. Besides that, I would not buy any other bags in lamb. I’m just not willing to baby my bags. I loveee everything about my clutch, and the lambskin is so smooth and I love to feel it. My mini rectangular on the other hand, since I wear it crossbody, I know I wouldn’t settle for a lambskin. I’m one of the many that lambskin is more often than not, a hard no. Good luck.

I have a lambskin iridescent mini and I don't wear it that much because the leather feels quite delicate. I don't know how well iridescent lambskin leather holds up over the years but given the choice, I would go with caviar.

I purchased a lambskin mini in August 2020 with careful and fairly minimal use. The corners are already rubbing off despite the rest of the bag being pristine. Chanel refuses to fix anything or recommend a repair shop. After this, caviar is the way to go :yucky:
Was it rubbed off just from being in storage? I cant imagine minimal use and have corners rubbed off, esp with the price we paid for ....Now i am worried for my lambskin minis...

My 10 yr old lamb WoC is perfect and carried to games and concerts, no rubbed corners.
That sounds incredible!

Oddly the base of the bag is fine. I think I just got unlucky with the item/care but now I'm scared of using it :amuse:

Team Caviar!
I love lambskin, i have both lamb and caviar, but i always reach out more for caviar simply because it's durable, sturdy and suited to my lifestyle. That said though, both my lamb and caviar have similar rubbing/wear and tear on the corners. I'd say the wear and tear is consistent across bags (more due to make and structure), but naturally the wear on caviar is less obvious to the eye because it's textured. Both hold up well, but i tend to baby my lambskin a little more consciously when i'm out and about.

I won’t stop saying it’s not, because my lamb isn’t delicate
I don’t own any vintage bags, and the truth is my lamb looks as good as my caviar and I don’t treat or baby it. My most used bag is a lamb WoC, it’s still immaculate, it’s been all over the world, caught in rain and goes to every concert.
It’s ok to have differing opinions without telling others what they should or shouldn’t say or what they experience, JMO :cutesy:

It’s so sad that the SA at Chanel can pull out a vintage lambskin and tell me that my bag can age like this. Definitely misleading because the vintage bag was a beauty! :(

what season is your lamb woc? I bought 4 lamb bags last year and the quality is so bad. I barely use mine and all of them have marks, especially the flap. Some deep scratches (don't know how it happened) can't be buffed out while all of my caviar bags look flawless.
