The Faubourg 20 is cute if it works with someone's style, there can be 6 separate colours/leathers, leather marquetry artistry that shows-off heritage and maroquinerie technique, but that is awful, lazy authentic mimicking fake.

Just get your Tipp-Ex out and borrow a cat's bell :catlick:

Is it supposed to be Keith Haring-esque? Not defending, because I think ‘lazy’ is an excellent place to start, just wondering…

I like Haring, his art was an individual, an immediate kinetic expression of the urban environment he lived in at a place and time. People claim art transcends time, but it always reflects the artist's life. This bag literally refs a cultural phenomenon (disco) that started off as a multicultural celebration, went international and partied hard through an epidemic, and I can see how the need for 'live fast, die young' flash-art can be a part of that conversation, but I can do my own 'homage' in a couple of minutes. This is not worthy, this is lazy. In fact, it's a typically French misreading of other's art only this time it's American. US/NY art is not opposite of that showcased by the Faubourg 20.

As far as I know Haring has not been credited (or estate/Foundation paid) nor the leading lights of Studio 54 for which they are also supposedly referencing. Hermes just thought they could do something cheaply, and it comes across as generic as most LV collabs (at least most of those get credited and paid for the commercial exploitation of their name/art).

If the Kieth Haring Foundation that supports "organizations which engage in education, prevention, and care with respect to AIDS and HIV infection" was given a donation from proceeds, then I will be pleased, but it won't alter my view of the bag. This is definitely H moving towards LV X Supreme territory - for me at least.

Yikes, why does it look so mis-shapen? This is a Sellier Birkin (and probably over $150k price tag) and it looks like it’s been sat on? I didn’t think a sellier B would be able to even smoosh like that without significant trauma.
