I wasn't really looking to upgrade but I was at the 5th Ave. store in NYC and of course HAD go check out the engagement floor. I saw all the beautiful Tiffany Settings and couldn't resist asking what Tiffany Settings they had that would fit my budget for an upgrade from my .81ct G VS2. The SA showed me a ring that had arrived just that day - 1.32ct I VS1. I wasn't sure about the I colour but I compared it to other near colourless stones (G and H) and I didn't notice much of a difference. I then checked out the proportions of the diamond and they looked pretty good! I double checked it with Ame here on tpf and she said this was a winner =) (Thanks Ame)
Presenting my new Tiffany Setting...

I believe upgrades at Tiffany must be at least double the value of the original ring. This value is given by Tiffany after they take it in for evaluation. So for explaining sake, if your ring is $10, your upgrade must be at least $20 and then the $10 can go towards paying the $20
That's not true. When we got my ring (less than a carat) they said we have 5 years.Congrats! The ring is soooo beautiful.
Just wondering, did Tiffany recently change their policy or is it different from country to country? I recently asked about e-ring upgrade and they told me that only rings with diamond bigger than 1 carat are eligible for upgrade. Is it true? 😔
Thanks for the confirmation. That's good news! I'll check again with another branch. That's not true. When we got my ring (less than a carat) they said we have 5 years.
2 weeks prior my birthday, I got a surprise from my DF.
I originally have a half carat Tiffany & Co solitaire diamond ring. And I love it as much as I love my fiancé. Last month, I had some random conversation with him about a bigger diamond e-ring and I jokingly told him it would look really beautiful on my finger. We just laughed about it after.
He asked me towards the end of that conversation, if I would have wished for him to give me the 1 carat diamond ring instead of the half carat from Tiffany. But I sincerely told him size doesn't matter as long as we are in love and happy. [emoji4]
Today, however, he got me the "dream ring", a Tiffany & co. 1.02 carat diamond ring. He told me I deserve better. It never came to mind that he will surprise me with a new one. He also told me to keep the first ring he got me originally and give it to our first child in the future. I am so blessed... I love him. He makes me happy and special. I could not ask for more. I am in cloud nine.
Here is a picture of both rings together. My ring size is 3.75. View attachment 2932736
