Today I received the "baby Cassie." The Kip in black. I ordered it early yesterday, just couldn't help it. It arrived today! They rushed it overnight in a padded envelope. Although I greatly appreciate the speed since I was supposed to get it Monday, they shipped it from a store and it was a return, I think, because it had some of the packaging intact. What I think happened is that someone bought it and returned it. Not for its looks, but its size or lack of.
It checks all the right boxes: Smooth leather. No contrast stitching (my one pet peeve with the Originals Rambler). The Cassie design with minimalist hardware. I wish this had been done with the regular Cassie and Cassie 19. They do a nice job with pebbled leather, but it's the glove tanned leather that sets Coach apart.
Unfortunately, this teeny bag doesn't hold a lot. Just your essentials. I mean essentials. Not worried if I have my lipstick or hand cream. What I managed to fit in this bag: keys, small Radley London wallet (vertically), phone and small bottle of sanitizer. Tranist card will fit in black slip pocket.I decided that I could swap out the wallet for a card case. The bag doesn't expand. It will fit my phone, but it must be put in a certain way. This is good for a trip to a store or a museum. The bag is adorable, but if I got a larger phone, it wouldn't fit. I am sorry that they didn't extend the bag slightly there isn't any "give" to the bag and this is what limits its usefulness.

I got my Cassie 19 in colorblock during the winter sale. It was 50 percent off. I don't think I have ever seen a Cassie 19 in black or chalk that was more than 30 percent off. Of course, there was the infamous $105 Cassie on the outlet site between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I fussed about my black Cassie from Macy's because they threw it t in a box with plastic wrapped around it. I sent it back. It was still a good deal at $206 USD. While I don't expect sale items to be pristinely wrapped in factory packing, they shouldn't just provide minimal wrapping and fling it in a box. Even on sale, that's a lot of money. Show respect for the item and the customer who purchased it. But that's me. It happened again.
However, I did learn that patience will pay off if you wait. I managed to get the $105 Cassie, a Rambler for $147. The Rambler I got during the Christmas sales. I also got the Market tote for $103 from Macy's during Black Friday.
I agree about the packaging. The presentation is part of your experience and connection with the bag.

Good deal on the Cassie outlet site. I missed out on that for sure!

Thank you for this thorough review! I ordered a Kip as well but it’s taking forever to get here.

I completely feel the same about the Kip. Wish the Cassie was smooth glovetanned leather with the plain turnlock.

It just barely fits what I need to carry but it's too gorgeous to return!

Do you really think they’ll go for 50% off? I purchased two Cassie 19s for 30% off with the current code on the Coach website and thought it was a good deal.
Most of the colorblocks went on sale last year so who knows considering the financial mess everyone is in especially last year.

Why did my sister get the Colorblock Cassie I wanted the most?

What colour did you decide to get? I love a black bag but the natural is so pretty!
I have the natural one! I already have 2 black bags (Cassie and LV Pochette Metis) and have been waiting to get the perfect classic brown look and the Kip checked all the boxes minus the size but I'm keeping it because the classic turnlock and glovetanned leather are so gorgeous.

I haven't bought a Coach bag in forever and never directly from Coach. But I wanted something new and I remembered the Cassie is similar to the LV pouchette metis. I bought my first LV last year and I have used the heck out of that speedy but I am already sick of it - LV is really everywhere in the area I live - it's just too much for me. Anyway, I popped on Coach's website late Sunday evening and snagged a Cassie and other goodies. I was so surprised they arrived today and I thought their presentation while unboxing was very nice as well. I don't really wear light colors but in FL I find a black bag too dark all year so chalk is still a great neutral. I can't stop looking and touching this beautiful bag. I wish it was a pinch bigger but the reality is I just need to tweek what I carry. I can definitely see buying this in other colors. It's such a beautiful bag and I am so excited to have gotten her! I just had to share a picture!PXL_20210513_032050682.NIGHT.jpg

Congrats! Be careful, Cassies are addictive! You'll be surprised how much they carry! Enjoy!

I just got the Kip and I am in love! It def is small but the design, the leather and color are perfection, in my opinion. My only question is does the back pocket on you guys' a little bit stretched when you received it? As always, the bag was wrapped to the nines so I don't think it's a return but I was just curious...TIA!

My Cassies have looked like that but nothing wrong.
Would love to see what fits!

Mine was completely wrapped, I've never seen something packed so nicely haha. I wouldn't worry about the back pocket, mine looks like that as well.

Enjoy your kip! I haven't carried mine yet!
