Syncope or fainting is very rarely related to brain ischemia such as TIA/ministroke or stroke.
More commonly related to cardiac arrhythmia, low blood pressure, dehydration, low blood sugar or exhaustion.
I would guess the last 4 for Wendy. Needless to say it needs to be taken seriously and urgent evaluation.

I watched it on you tube. When you faint or collapse, most persons go down cold. They don't have the cerebral or muscular control to look like they are trying to get their balance before dropping.

one thing I do know about health concerns and the black community - historically we shy away from telling the absolute truth about health. So folks will die of Aids and the family will just say 'he was sick'. period. end of story. no more talk about it.
I have relatives that will whisper 'cancer', 'diabetes', 'heart attack', etc.. Instead of facing the issue head on.

Not that she owes the public ANYTHING when it comes to her own health. So all jokes aside, I hope that whatever caused it, isn't anything major and that she isn't in denail, if it's a real health concern.
Why is that? I mean with the black community?

Because back in the days when black people were 3/5th of a human, they were often experimented on and treated as lab animals. Experiments such as Henrietta Lacks, the Tuskegee Experiment, the US military testing if mosquitos could be used to carry deadly toxins, pharmas tested products, and the list goes on. Especially when it comes to mental health because of the experiments that went on...it was believed black people couldn't feel pain so you can imagine the type of experiments that are done from a mental health perspective if one starts from the premise that you can't feel pain. Look up drapetamania (sp?). Experiments are still being done to black folks especially to those who are in prison. This is all of the stuff people don't want while trying to emulate black culture. There's a book called "Medical Apartheid. A Dark History of Medical Experiments on Black Americans" which is a good read if you really want to understand further. All of these fears and desire to protect your children/family get carried through and passed down culturally; this is why it became something to shy away from being honest about...no one wanted to go to the doctor and end up an experiment.

This was the part that I can't get past....she said today that she was dehydrated and felt a wave of heat come over her. I hope that's all it truly was because she didn't look good. Word on the NY streets is that her staff has been worried about her for some time now.

My Mom was old school......the word cancer was never spoken out loud in my house. I remember a family friend was diagnosed as having cancer, and I was really young, and overheard the convo......my mother kept saying this person had "C".....and she whispered the letter "C"....I was like what's that, what is the letter C? In low hushed tones she whispered "cancer". So I was a little kid, and I said ....out loud...."Cancer"? And my Mom got so mad, and told me to never say that out loud, never. Certain ailments were always spoke of in whispers. I guess superstitious. We also couldn't sit in a wheelchair......that meant you were tempting fate.....you know when your a kid and you are with your parents visiting someone in a hospital and you see a wheelchair, you want to sit in it and get pushed.....oh hells my Mom wasn't having that either!
I had one uncle that would say 'you know pearl down the street got the Big K'... k = for cancer! I was so confused for a good 30 minutes
