Even if it is a hassle, I would send them to VCA to solder. Otherwise you may not be eligible for any repairs in the future if needed.

I bought my earrings today and there can be two adjustments made to the earrings. One is soldering on the post. And the other one is lengthening the post.
Alright. I stopped by VCA today and I was able to purchase a new pair of earrings at 60% cost. I returned the single earring I had and left with a new pair. My SA told me that you can solder the post, lengthen the post and also tighten/loosen the tension. So I took the pair home and will test them out (at home) and then figure out what I want modified on them.
That’s great news! Just to confirm is it 60% of what you originally paid or 60% of current cost (assuming the prices are different)?

It is the current retail price. They take back the single earring and give you a new pair.
There shouldn't be a fee if it's within the 12 months from date of purchase.
If I just want to loosen the clip, can it be done in house and on the spot OR does it still need to be sent in for repairs?
I’m pretty sure they don’t do it on the spot. I think it’s a similar process to getting a bracelet adjusted
