VCA can unsolder posts that were soldered into one hole to move them to a different hole.
I just had this done.

Ohh good to know. Is there a service fee to have them unsolder?VCA can unsolder posts that were soldered into one hole to move them to a different hole.

Nothing so dramatic! The post is permanently attached/soldered to the insertion on the back of the earring motif so that it cannot screw on and off at will. You will notice that before soldering you can unscrew unsoldered posts with your fingers (SAs have a little manual tool that they use) and move the post from one hole to another. This is for clip back styles; sweets and mini earrings without a clip have a fixed post to start with. How does soldering work?
is the front of earring now attached to the back And it can never be removed from your ear?
Thank you so much NicoleNothing so dramatic! The post is permanently attached/soldered to the insertion on the back of the earring motif so that it cannot screw on and off at will. Correct. You are welcome! It can "unscrew". It would not happen immediately, but you may not notice it over time. Very similar to the screws unscrewing over hours/days/weeks on a Love bracelet (and why we check the screws every so often). The earring post may also stay in your year but the earring falls off around it.Thank you so much Nicoleyou are always a lifesaver
Question am I understanding this part right? The unsoldered post (the thin movable piece that inserts in the ear hole) can fall out then you lose the whole earring, as well as, the thin piece?

Tagging @Ylesiya to this thread, I believe she was successful in ordering the other half of a missing pair of earrings, perhaps she could share her experience & knowledge on the process if she is able to.
Thank you!! This is super helpful and encouraging info!Thank you @tenshix!
Yes, VCA was a so called pairing service. They should be able to help. Technically what happens is that they just give you a new pair for the 60% of the retail cost and take your existing earring back, if the creation is still in range. If the creation is already not in range, they will make a brand new pair. I am still waiting on mine because this is a Pure Alhambra pair and these earrings are not produced anymore. For the "not in range" creations it is a bit challenging though, Singapore could not help me so I had to go through London.
Does the soldering option apply to the sweet Alhambra earrings? I haven’t seen them in person and am curious. Ty!Nothing so dramatic! No, the sweets come with soldered posts, they are not removable. The posts in the vintage size are removable as purchased because there are two placement options for the post, one higher and one lower, for the sweets there is only one location and the post is fixed there.Does the soldering option apply to the sweet Alhambra earrings?
