Sigh. So I was wearing my vintage Alhambra earrings last night and didn’t notice that one fell off. I was unable to recover it and now I am sad and frustrated that it happened. I haven’t gone to the boutique to ask what they can do with my single earring. So my question to you guys is…what would you guys do in this situation with one earring left? Like should I make it in to a pendant necklace? Buy another pair of earrings? Scour the internet for the one single earring on the left ear?

I don’t know if I will really want another pair of VA earrings because of how it fell off. I am a little weary because it’s not very secure on my ears. But I am open to any suggestions. Thank you!

I am sorry this happened.
Did you have the posts soldered?
Hope they can make a single earring for you.

Thank you. No I didnt know that was something I needed to do. Sigh.

I will go to the store sometime next week and see if it’s possible to order a single earring. I wasn’t sure if that was something VCA would be able to do.

This is so upsetting...I'm sorry this has happened to you. Do try and see if they'll make one earring for you and make sure they solder the pair. Look visibly upset and disappointed that no one mentioned to you about the soldering option...It should really be standard info when you buy the earrings.

OP, I would look in your car to see if they fell off there. Sometimes the action of putting on and taking off the seat belt can cause them to fall off.

As a general rule, as I go in an out of places, I do a check on my jewelry— like checking for your phone.

Good luck! I hope you find it.

@Swanky
The posts on many VCA earrings (VA included) have 3 locations in which a post can be screwed in — this gives some flexibility to where the earrings sit on the lobe. Some people have the earrings soldered to the preferred location. But I do not think it can be re-soldered in case your piercing gets larger as you get older.

I recalled a handful of people have experienced the posts falling off and nearly losing their earrings.
This happened to me with one of my frivoles when a jeweler cleaned them. Luckily they found the post. It’s screwed in (and adjustable to a different position so it sits on the ear properly). I just screwed it back in with some lock-tite as I do want to retain the adjustability. Soldering is def a more permanent option.

Hi OP I’m so sorry this happened to you :( I believe other members here have been able to successfully order the other half of the pair at reduced cost (they don’t charge you for a full set) but I forgot exactly how much it was. It was around the ballpark of 60% of the cost of a set I think? I hope those members chime in on this thread.

Did you happen to get the earrings recently? If so it’s possible you might have buyers protection from your credit card if you purchased it on an Amex or Chase, my DH says Amex has the best no questions asked policy, if I remember correctly maybe about 3-6 months coverage from purchase and up to $10,000 in value per year I believe. It’s something worth checking if you got it recently. Other major credit card holders might also have this buyers protection but I’m not familiar with the details of their policies.

Others here have mentioned it but if you know your earring post position you could just have it permanently soldered and make sure the back clip is also securely tight. I would speak to your SA about this since many other have complained about the post screw coming off leading to their earrings falling off which is a huge security risk and a design flaw. I hope they’re able to offer you a reasonable price for the other half of your earrings should you choose to replace it.

Tagging @Ylesiya to this thread, I believe she was successful in ordering the other half of a missing pair of earrings, perhaps she could share her experience & knowledge on the process if she is able to.

Sorry to hear this op. I have not soldered mine on yet and I just check them before wearing each pair. I will eventually soldered on.
I personally would bite bullet and get a second earring if you love the earrings. Sounds like many here have as tenshix said. Have vca soldered on posts and make sure clips are tight but comfortable. My one frivoles has the posts come out but the clip is tight that I have taken earring off and post remained in my ear hole. This was before I started checking it before wearing.
