I’m writing a review to hopefully help others searching for a reputable clinic in Korea for a rhinoplasty. This is a review at 4 weeks PO.
The main concerns I had for my nose was a flat bridge and bulbous tip. But I was very scared of getting an unnatural result but so glad I found this clinic.
The link to their website is
https://www.cocoline.co.kr/
If you chat with a consultant via the line or kakao app, they’re really helpful. They’ll also be able to assist you with signing up to their page to gain access the extensive list of before and after blog reviews from past clients.
Cocoline stands out because they only have one resident surgeon who performs all surgeries. They’ve been open for over 11 years, which is really good for Korea.
Why I chose Cocoline:
I chose cocoline because the director / surgeon specialises in no-implant rhino. This means they can alter your nose without the use of implants. The surgeon is able to offer a very natural improvement to the appearance of your nose by operating on the tip.
This is good for people who already have an adequate nose bridge height but want to fix their tip which improves overall harmony of the nose.
The surgeon can make your tip smaller and slimmer using your own septum cartilage or ear cartilage if you don’t have enough septum cartilage. They also remove excess fat in the tip to help further slim it down.
There are less than a handful surgeons in Korea who can do this type of surgery. However, the director/surgeon performs all types of surgery related to rhino on a daily basis including primary rhino and revisions.
I was convinced through the abundant BA photos and reviews from previous clients. The results were so natural.
The surgeon, Dr Kim is an ENT ✅
He also only performs nose surgeries. No other types of plastic surgery is offered at the clinic so you know they specialise in rhinoplasty. ✅
And last of all, I had a really good consult with Dr Kim Seon-gu. He was very respectful, answered all my questions with ease and very nice. The clinic was also very professional as well.
My surgery price included all medication, pumpkin juice and free light treatments to reduce swelling post op.
Surgery:
I had primary rhino, a silicone implant was used as I had a short bridge, the implant itself is an “i” shape. My own septum and ear cartilage was used construct my nose tip. Excess fat was also removed from my tip.
I did not want to get my nostril / alars altered due to personal preference. I also know that the tip and bridge construction would alter my nostril shape anyway so I didn’t need to get them cut and moved in.
Honestly the recovery process was such a breeze. I never surpassed a 2/10 pain level. I didn’t bruise much either (thanks to my careful handed surgeon).
I wish I had found this surgeon/clinic earlier because I had regretfully gotten fillers and nose threads in the past.
I had to have my filters removed at least 2 weeks prior to the surgery. My nose threads were removed in the surgery.
The only discomfort I had was the first night as I had to sleep with a gauze pack stuffing in my nose which meant I had to mouth breathe.
I had a consult with Dr Kim right before going into surgery, where I was also asked to send photos of my nose goals. The photos were then printed and posted up on the surgery wall so they Dr Kim can refer to them during surgery. This made me feel like he cared about the results I wanted.
Outcome:
These photos are just over 3 weeks PO, although I’m still swollen, I am so happy with the results so far. I look like myself but better. It doesn’t look like I’ve got a nose job at all and could definitely get away without telling anyone. Everyone has complimented me on how natural the results are.
The doctor gave me a taller bridge, slimmer tip and also evened out my nostrils.
I highly recommend cocoline and am forever thank you to Dr Kim for taking such good care for me
Tips / Caution:
Korea has a few longstanding issues that foreigners travelling to Korea for surgery should be aware of
- Ghost doctors - The surgeon you consult and contract to do your surgery may hire a different doctor and switch in the surgery room unbeknownst to you. This may cause many issues as you are not guaranteed a safe procedure and with a doctor that has unknown qualifications. A lot of surgery clinics have now installed surveillance cameras in the operating room to rule out any foul play. ID Hospital is very well known for this and still refuse to install cameras.
- Clinic changes under different names. Some clinics / surgeons are known to close after receiving bad reviews / testimonials and then reopen under a whole different brand / name completely. Ensure that the clinic you go to has been operating for at least 5 years as a safe guide.
