The truth about the speedy

All of my bags are shoulder bags except for my Speedy, it is simply not as impractical as it may seem.
I walked around with my husband for 2 hours today, carrying my stuffed to the gills Speedy- no problem whatsoever. On super busy days, I love it; it is so easy to grab and get in and out of the car, and as mentioned it fits a TON, yet has such a small footprint that it does not take up much room.

My advice would be to get one and try it out for a few weeks. If you decide it's not your cup of tea, sell it here on the Marketplace, it will be snatched up in a heartbeat.

Or perhaps check ebay or the market place for a used one. This wahy you're not out as much money if you find the like the bag, either keep the used one or upgrade to a new one. You know you can always sell a speedy...

I know my Speedy 25 hurt my elbows so much that I had to stop using it, and I haven't bought a satchel style since. If it doesn't fit on my shoulder, I don't buy.

SUCK IT UP. im am just kidding with you. lol. i know it does sore your arms. :push:

Just got a Speedy 25 last week. It is my first hand-held bag and it does take just a bit of getting used to. But, as others have said, it holds so much and is so incredibly light weight. I just can't believe how simple but how terrific it is.

While my speedy 25 does fit a lot, I also find it sores my forearms/wrist, especially when I am shopping. I like to look through tons of clothes rack and it does get very tiring after a while. Having said that...I am still in love with it  . Now my speedy only gets to go out on occasions when I am just going out for a dinner or when I know I am going straight home from work.

I love my speedies! They hold sooo much & look good. But it does wear on your arm after a bit. But I must say that shoulder bags also make my shoulder sore. I guess there's no winning :)

I take it to work with me so I don't hold it or have it on the crook of my arm for hours. I like it. If I were to go a full day of walking and stuff, I would bring another bag of mine instead. I brought it to the outlets once when I was shopping (a couple weeks ago) and I thought it might be a big mistake when I got out of the car but it didn't weigh my arm down or anything. I think it's also because my BF was with me and he held my bag at times when I wanted my hands free to hold onto stuff when shopping.

I am the opposite of you, I prefer handheld instead of shoulderbags. My only shoulderbags are suhali le tal and leonor, gucci horsebit, and a few pradas. I never use the strap that comes with my kelly.

I personally like the speedy handheld, not with the strap. There are other shoulderbag style bags that maybe you can consider, like the batignolles, cabas piano, even the pochette is shoulderbag altho it isn't suitable for everyday use.

Browse vuitton.com to have a look at the styles, it might give you a better idea on which bag to choose.

Thanks, you have such a cute dog! If i buy a speedy it will be without a shoulder strap because i don't like the look. I'm also considering a shoulder bag, PH/BH. I don't want to use a louis daily because i am very carefull with it. Now i love the epi pochette, the speedy's and the bh/ph... but i can only buy 2

I would love to see a picture of someone with the speedy on the shoulder.   For me, it would be impossible. I have the speedy 25 and bought a LV strap for it and it didnt look right and there wasnt the proper hardware on the bag to attact it to and the LV website emailed me and said a strap would ruin the bag. I use my speedy for certain things and when I need a long day out for shopping, I use my other LV shoulder bags. Now that my speedy handles are getting darker, its easier to carry it without getting freaked out about getting them dirty. once the patina sets in, it stays alot nicer.
