Nico_79 and Arabesques...because of both of your photos of the Mythiques Phoenix pareo, it is now mine!! Texted my SA as soon as I saw Arabesques photos this morning (Nico, yours were still lingering in my mind!), and ran down there a couple of hours ago to pick it up. Thank goodness I went quickly, as they sold 6 of them in the Toronto store alone in the past two days, and Vancouver said they're selling like hot cakes as well. Ahhh, the power of tpf! In Canada, it retails for $650 plus tax.

Clapping!!! :woohoo:

aarabesques !!! Gorgeous pics!!! Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you, Anfang!

:woohoo: Congrats HfromT! So happy you were able to grab one before they sold out, I have a friend in Vancouver who is desperately trying to find one too.

I very much want to thank the women who've contributed to this thread and shared their pictures. One day about a week and a half ago, I went through the whole thing (ummm, obsessive anyone?) to prep for a visit to H Madison, and that's when I saw the Mythiques Phoenix pareo. I was a goner instantly and went directly to H to see if I could try it on. I had been so tempted by the 90cm silk twill, but since I don't wear that size, I just couldn't bite, so I was happy when the SA said she would bring one in for me.

I've been hunting for the perfect neutral scarf for a long, long time, and this fits the bill given my wardrobe. The background is a soft ivory, rather than harsh white (which is used for detail highlights instead), and the dark blue and dark raisin colors when matched with the silvery grays make this easy to dress up or down. The pareo dimensions make it fabulously easy to wear as a shawl.

I model the Bleu Ink color way with another new treasure . . . an Indigo Barenia Evelyne 2 PM bag . . . I'm in heaven.

Without this thread, I wouldn't have known that this existed, so thank you again everyone for all the information and photographs you share.
thx arabesques for the marvellous shots! My heart almost stopped when I saw the stunning details!

An absolute show stopper, arabesques!
I have one treasured cotton GM (Lalbhai) and wish H would bring back the format.
The cotton shawl is heavenly in the summer!

Thank you, Chrisy. A pareo is a 100% cotton large scarf that is traditionally used as a beach coverup. This is actually lighter in weight than their normal pareos, and the SAs are selling them AS scarves (or at least the two who helped me). The price is $550 plus tax. Consider it—it's great for those of us who don't normally were the classic twill size.

arabesques, thanks for your quick reply. I sure will check it out in the store. ;)

^^^ Hi Nico!! Your friend might be out of luck, as my SA said Vancouver called Toronto looking for more MP pareos and they couldn't send them any because they only had one left!

Thank you, D Lee. I can't wait for it to be warm enough to wear like this out in the evening.

A cotton Lalbhai would be amazing! I too wish they would bring back the cotton voile; it's really so versatile.

You may find cotton/cashmere/silk 140 at the men's dept! Just saying! :graucho:

And these are fabulous, Anfang. I have one from the men's section, and I adore it. They are great in the warmer months and I'm longing for another.

You are so kind—thanks OhManolo. I'm like you, if in the opposite direction. While I don't do 90cm scarves anymore, I want to grab this one because surely it will get used someday. Or simply adored.
