Hey, thank you so much for your wonderful comment!

Makes me feel I’m not alone struggling with Marni Trunk  it’s such a pity, because I still think it’s a beautiful bag, and it goes so well with certain dresses or especially with a proper long coat. If it wasn’t so uncomfortable and impractical it could have made an excellent everyday bag.

Celine Trio sounds wonderful - sorry you sold yours, I know from personal experience, it can be difficult to track down the right color and size at the right price now that it’s been discontinued (such a shame Celine don’t make them anymore). By the way, I think I might be at the stage you described yourself : I am trying very hard to limit the number of bags I own to an absolute bare minimum because I think that’s a rational thing to do, but it’s just so damn difficult sometimes that I might just give up soon…

Understated is the name of the game for me. Come to think of it, I think another pro for Bourse clutch for me could be that it’s not as popular as Celine Trio. Even though the branding is super minimal on Trio, I still have some friends who would immediately recognize it and a few who would know the brand. I don’t particularly like that, so I think that’s another reason why The Row bags speak to me - even less people know about The Row, and definitely only very few would be able to recognize a specific model (especially the one like Bourse - I don’t think it ever became even remotely popular like the Half Moon bag, for example). And the branding is even less visible on The Row too… The only problem with The Row is that there are barely any reviews and it seems that Bourse clutch has been completely under the radar so far. I will still think about it - who knows, maybe I will finally find the right Celine on Vestiaire like tomorrow - but I think I might be leaning towards Bourse. I might need to hurry though, it’s sold out in black on the official website, and there’s only one retailer who carries it a lower price, on all other websites it’s for some reason more expensive (e.g., 17.5% markup on Net-a-Porter compared to official store, even though it’s the same size and everything - very confusing pricing).

By the way, not sure why people have telling me that Bourse is not a special occasions bag - I have been researching it and found a few examples where it’s styled very much as an evening bag/clutch. Of course, still depends on personal style, and maybe for some people it’s not dressy enough, but after seeing these photos, it made me even more convinced that this might be the most versatile bag of the three (so in the very very unlikely case that I have to go to an event for which I would need a proper evening outfit, at least I won’t have to buy a new purse).

I have the bourse clutch, the small one you showed above. I also think it’s an evening bag. The shape is probably not ideal for everyday use. For everyday small crossbody bag, I recommend the row mini Nu twin. It has two compartments only. I had a Celine trio and found the 3 compartments too much for me as I was always fumbling to find my stuff.

Hi @estallal, thank you for your comment! I’m wondering what are your thoughts on the bourse clutch in general? Do you like it?

And why do you think its shape is not ideal for everyday use? Just because of the way it looks or is it a functionality topic?

I love your thoughts here cos it's exactly what I go through when deciding on a new bag right now. Yes, we are probably at a similar stage with our bag decisions! I would just add that where I am , Marni bags have poor resale prices, and it sounded like you still like yours to an extent - if you think you'd miss it and would still use it here and there, might be worth keeping til you decide on the Bourse? The Trunk is a classic of its own. Mind you, Trios seem to not do so well at resale here, too. I don't buy bags purely to resell, but I do buy knowing that my tastes could change in future, and if so, would I be happy to sell a bag potentially at a large loss one day. But that is just me :) good luck deciding on the Bourse! The Row bags really are so beautiful and I also like that hardly anyone knows what brand they are. The Bourse also looks like if it had to be packed with dustbag into luggage, it would not get damaged or misshapen:) I do love a beautiful handbag that can join me on travels without worry! Hard to find those! Good luck!

These are not handbags, but, has anyone ever owned The Row Canal slippers? Particularly in Velvet, though any fabrication would be good to know about!

Like this https://www.fwrd.com/mobile/product-the-row-canal-slippers-in-black/TERX-WZ146/

I really love the style and although white velvet just screams "MUD" lol, I would enjoy wearing them indoors, at least!

Beautiful! How is she holding up so far ? Does the smooth leather scratch easily ?
So I am test driving her and have so far managed commuting on the train and biking to work at home, I have conditioned her after consulting with @docride and have even caught some rain. Have also scratched her with my fingernails while packing, which is easily buffed out with a clean finger, have overpacked her (like, seriously heavily loaded her) and am finding my way around. What are your do’s and dont’s with investment bags?

Hi! I recently purchased a used large park tote. I don’t have experience with the brand and was wondering if anyone could help authenticate it? I checked it thoroughly because I’m familiar with luxury bags just not this brand - clean stamping, flawless edge coat, and flawless stiching. But how can I be sure? Are there things I need to watch out for? Thank you!!!

I’m a long time lover of any bags without branding. My favourite was old Céline and having just sold two beloved belt cabas totes I was feeling so sad.

The I spotted the Leo. I quickly ordered it in the mini size thinking it was just like a miniature Céline. However I didn’t like it, it was too open and the round shape was squished somewhat. Most importantly the belt didn’t arrive tied like the photo and was too thick for me to do much with so I returned it.

What I did love was the leather, the lack of branding and the craftsmanship.

I’m on a massive downsize operation, have sold quite a few larger bags I wasn’t using and had decided to buy nothing until this exercise was complete. Until I saw that Leo.

Next I spotted the half moon on You Tube. It didn’t look asymmetrical so I quickly looked it up. Hated it. 5 minutes later I decided to order one and I am obsessed with it. I love everything about it. I did need a white colour bag for summer use as I sold the only one I had for being too large.

This one is a beauty. I cannot believe how smooth the zipper is, one of the best I’ve used considering the crescent shape. I can even hold and zip up the bag with one hand. Photo to follow.

Does anyone own the Medium Park 3 Tote Bag? I noticed the bag has.a large square base that juts out and whether anyone find this annoying or whether it's not a problem at all. The leather is absolutely gorgeous but I can't help stop wondering if the large bottom of the bag gets in the way. Trying to decide whether to keep it or not so if anyone has any experience can you share? Or is the North South better? As it's more upright it doesn't stick out as much.

Can confirm it's pretty annoying...useful if you want to pack the bag with a lot of things and carry by hand, but it feels quite clunky to carry around by the shoulder. I'm on the fence about whether to sell it. I have the medium N/S as well and like it, but FWIW it does have the tendency to slip off the shoulder as there is only 1 strap.

Thanks for your response. I did end up returning it as I really didn't like the large square base and it's too clunky and I feel I would hit ppl or objects with it. I wish it had the seam in the middle to be able to fall flat. I also found the N/S in large too big. It kept bouncing against my hip when I tried it at home and was hitting my thigh while walking and trying it at home. Medium may be a better size but it sounds like the strap may fall off easily...as much as I love the leather, unfortunately the size and the large base that just sticks out is a big deal breaker for me. I live in a busy city as a "working woman" and I need to think to be practical and the large bases are just not doing it for me. Appreciate the space, but i feel it went overboard. Thanks for the advice!!
