I just purchased the turtle dove yesterday and am very pleased. It is all season and understated luxury.

Turtle Dove is a gorgeous all-around color. I would love to add one someday. Congrats!

I was admittedly ‘on the fence’ about this bag for years. I love ‘school bag’ aesthetic (I have mulberry Alexa and Proenza Schouler PS1 in my collection) so I honestly did not think I needed another bag

But after looking at this thread for years and slowly yet inevitably drooling, I caved in and bought my first Pochette Métis (PM) in December 2023 for the express purpose of replacing my 13 year old Prada nylon messenger bag for traveling. My family at first were not wholly impressed by this unassuming, understated little black leather bag.

Well, I am here to say this:
This is the BEST bag I have had for traveling thus far—— the black empreinte PM is almost indestructible. The poor bag survived an ice storm in Chicago, has been shoved under airline seat floors and 3 days ago, it fell out of an Uber car into a puddle of dirty street water. I just wiped it off with a cloth and it was good to go.

I am very sorry I have not been kind to my black empreinte PM.
It deserves a better owner but this bag has earned its place. This is a keeper.

That said, I drove to my nearest LV store yesterday and purchased a ‘sibling’ for my black empreinte PM—-Turtledove empreinte PM!

Just can’t decide between the black and the Reverse (I love it but worry about the canvas cracking and also the less discreet look and now there are rumors that it will be phased out). I have a black Coach Cassie that I love so not sure if it would be redundant. So I am kinda considering the black E/W or the navy/navy one that is supposed to come out in March/April. But seeing your black one has made me smitten with it again . Enjoy your new beauties.

What a wonderful dilemma you have—-the Reverse, black E/W and upcoming navy/navy all sound delectable!! Of course this is probably not going to help narrow down on your decisions as this is an enabling forum

And I personally don’t think it is redundant to have multiple black/dark colored bags (I have many ‘school satchel’ type of bags and also many black bags

Love your PMs, I am also in similar situation, I also have PS1 and Prada nylon messenger used for travels. I am thinking about getting the PM in red color and thinking it may be too similar to the PS1 and Prada, I would have to buy preloved because I don't think LV makes the red color anymore.

But, honestly, Prada messenger is the best for traveling, it's lightweight and no need to worry about it getting dirty and very secure because it has a zipper and flap, double security. But sometimes you just want something different and the PM would be red and my Prada is black.

I think you may have convinced me to take the plunge with the PM. I have seen some nice Red ones preloved with good pricing.

Thanks TK . I know you are a big fan of the black empriente PM . Do you find yourself reaching for the PM or Cassie more? Think you may have mentioned the black PM is or was your daily bag. I thought the new navy PM might be the answer but in the back of my mind, a black PM may ultimately be the best. This may the year I finally decide one way or another. The price already went up $300+ since i bought the red. Thanks.

A few years ago I would have said my Cassie. Now my PM is almost always the bag I grab for bar a few days here and there where I choose my black Cassie or another of my bags. I’m eagerly awaiting real life photos of the navy pm! Yes! The price keeps climbing, I believe mine was still under $3000 Canadian (before tax) when I purchased it!!

It’s looking a little worse for wear these days, however it makes me love it even more because I’m getting so much use and enjoyment out of it!
