Re my broken South Sea triple row bracelet, the pearls couldn’t be matched.
I randomly sent 3 pearl bracelets to my insurers-2 non South Sea(1 Tiffany Hardwear, 1 Mikimoto Akoya) and a Mikimoto Tahitian South Sea, all single row.
They asked for a quote for a replicate of mine, to recreate a like for like, so I contacted one of my 3 jewellers, Calleija, who specialise in South Sea pearls.
They’ve provided 2 quotes, which I’ve submitted, but my own bracelet was very underinsured , I’m waiting for my insurers to revert back to me.
I’m worried that at best they’ll offer to pay for the Tiffany one-yesterday at the Golden Wedding party, my Dad didn’t mention that I wasn’t wearing the pearl bracelet.
In this instance , I’ll have to decide what I Really want and pay the difference, which could be substantial.
I doubt I’ll go for the highest quote, as if I went totally overboard and put a platinum and diamond clasp on it there would be lots of insurance conditions, plus my speciality (as I wrote previously) is Type 11 diamonds, not pearls, I don’t want to invest 5 figures in the bracelet..

Update-my insurers offered either to pay for Any pearl bracelet up to the value of £x, which covered some of the Mikimoto ones, and the Tiffany ones, but I went with one of the Calleija quotes, and a, paying the difference.
Calleija are able to reuse my silver clasp(it was a very good clasp), although it’s still costing me 4 figures, and are currently sourcing South Sea pearls from Australia to recreate my bracelet, knotted this time.

It’s the worst picture ever, as it’s really hard to take a picture using an iPad (should have used my phone !)- there’s a black shadow all over it..
But I have my new Calleija triple row South Sea pearl bracelet.
They used my original sterling silver clasp as it was a really great clasp-the pearls feel lovely and cold against my skin.

I love the "old" (pearls itself) and modern look. I'm not surprised you went for them.
