Oh SL, it's really too bad that you had such an awful experience!! I would say yes, definitely return it and then find a new store for future purchases. That was NOT appropriate for him to ask such personal questions....that would scare me right out the door! I think you handled it very well!!!

Thanks, I felt a little guilty so you made me feel better. I was pretty thrown when he not only asked me where I worked but what time I got off work. Sheesh. So my hubby feels bad for me and he said we are just going back there Thursday to exchange it yet again. He doesn't want to deal with my anxiety having to wait for a replacement from UPS I bet lol I am a little OCD but then I think many members here are which is part of why we all have good taste ha ha. I am hoping that the SA that helped me isn't there when I go back. I feel embarrassed to face him again even though I really shouldn't. I swear I need to get out more but my health for the last couple years hasn't been great so shopping online is a Godsend for me. Anyway, I would go tomorrow but I'm taking my daughter to the San Dieo Safari Park because lately I am feeling better :)

I'm amazed by what you're telling about the salesperson! People would never behave like that here. And I don't think you sell more that way, at least not in the long run. And I would send it back, but I would let them pay for shipping and make a complaint about it.

Well thank goodness I'm not alone in thinking he was over the top. I thought I was just being insecure maybe because I don't get out like I used to. He was overwhelming me. My hubby is taking me back on Thursday and he will come in with me this time. I am sure if he was there the first time this would not have happened. He's rather intimidating to look at himself people don't generally push anything on him lol

Just bought the evil eye and the sun! I went in with intentions to buy a couple two toned charms but I fell in love with these!! Not sure I like the arrangement though.

I love your bracelet! The evil eye looks great on it, I wish it was available in the UK - quite a few charms just don't get released here. :/

Aww, I'm sorry! IT had always been on my wishlist but on my "later" list not my "must have" until I saw it in person. My theme before was pink/purple and I was afraid it would clash but I don't think so. I'm excited for the summer charms!

Maybe you could someone in USA get it for you and ship it? Or eBay

Fishfins, you are thinking exactly like what I was thinking a year or two back! I ended up going with the double leather gold clasp and put two open works beads on it with ribbons underneath them to hold them in place exactly like you are talking about......I really like the fact that the clasp is gold and the two beads are also gold. I think it's almost impossible to find a gold clasp leather anymore. The oxidized gold clasp bracelets are also retired, but I know where they can be purchased if in the US. If you go that way, you could put two gold clips on it and be done or add an additional bead to float in between the clips. Just me, but I would keep it all the same, either all gold or all two tone beads but that's just me. Let me know if you want to see pictures of any of these options......:smile1:

Thanks NorthShore! I love your leather, it's one of the bracelets I had in mind when I started thinking of ideas.

Luckily the gold clasped oxidised is still going here in the uk, I was disappointed though that it was retired in the US because we were there in April and I looked into buying one (works out quite a bit cheaper). I did consider buying the non-oxidised one and getting it oxidised here but I wasn't sure how it would turn out!

I think maybe everyone's right about sticking to all gold. I think I'm going to have to have a look at them! I'm finding it quite hard too to find reductions on gold charms. Almost all of my silver/two-tone charms I didn't pay full price for, so not used to coughing up the whole amount!

And all pictures are always welcome!! :graucho:

You're right, I am going to return it. I think I'm just going to ship it though. I so don't want to go back there. I did call them to let them know I was not happy and to ask them if I can send back the one I got at there store and they said yes. I suppose I can't completely blame the SA at the store but perhaps if he had been more focused on customer service than making sales this would not have happened. To be honest I had to work pretty hard to dodge his questions and it was getting intimidated which is not usually like me at all but I am not even kidding he asked me where I lived, worked, where my work was located, what time I got off of work and what I did for work all in one sentence while he was shoving paperwork at me and mumbling to another SA. Then as soon as I signed for the return he wanted me to look at stuff in a nearby case and asked me again if he should put me on the jewelry list. I guess I should have gone in there looking really poor and maybe he would not have been so pushy lol He didn't bring out other sizes for me to try on or even ask me how the bracelet fit. He put it on me again once it was full of charms and he was trying to sell me more charms the entire time I was exchanging the bracelet. "Do you want another Murano, do you want some new clips? We have these blah blah." Anyway, I am not trying to be too hard on him but....I am really disappointed. I have had this thing a week and can't even wear it and looks like I won't be wearing it for a while longer. This particular Jared only has three stars on yelp btw.

Sounds like you had a horrible time  I'm really glad you are going to exchange it though, you shouldn't have to live with the wrong bracelet.

I love the evil eye and the nightingale is sweet too!

Yes, it doesn't clash at all, although theoretically you'd think it would. :) Yes, I am tempted to get it... I'd like it on the bangle when that comes out here. I was thinking about getting it from Perlen. My problem with ordering stuff online is that I'm in town a lot and the temptation just to go into the shop and get something there and then instead always gets me ;) plus my boyfriend is a terrible enabler and always encourages me to just go in and buy something!

Jared is so notorious to sign you up for their updates without you being aware of it.
I never really like going there for anything. Their sales people are way too intrusive...

^^ This is me exactly (bolded)! I could save so much money by ordering from Perlen, but it kills me to wait a week until it is delivered.

Sorry that the salesperson was so pushy. It kinda takes some of the fun out of it. I had a similar experience with my local dealer. My hubby was nice enough to let me pick out a few charms for valentines day, but when he went to buy, the salesperson kept pushing him for his email address. My hubby is very sensitive about giving out any personal information and he said he didn't want to give it, and the SP claimed he couldn't complete the sale without an email address. I ended up giving them mine, but thought, geez guess he should have lied and said he doesn't have one, but why should someone need to lie just to buy something from a store....:nono:
