2002 Marron suede Messenger/hobo. I still have no clue what the official name of this bag is, I bought it either late 02 or early 03. On sale, too, I was aghast when I saw a table full of Bal bags on private sale (30%)!

That is such a cool bag! I love how the hardware pops against the color! And what a deal!

Thank you!! That poor thing has been kicked around something terrible. . . I suspect it can take more of a beating than the other Bals I own. It's been spilled on, rained on, thrown around in wet grass. . . I like that I can throw this on and not have to be afraid for it.

In '03 there was only Pewter Hardware on the motorcycle line bags. Pewter hardware started in F/W '02 on Suede bags and then ended in S/S '04 on the Leather bags. The year I'm referring to is printed on the paper card as well as etched into the metal plate via letter code when applicable (by style), such as "D" or "C". It's possible someone bought a Flat Brass hardware bag in '03 as the production of Flat Brass ended in F/W '02. Hope that helps ;o)

I didn't start until 2007 and the majority of my bags are 04s- just scour the second-hand avenues and you'll find them!
