Anyone thinks the coach 2016 saddle bag looks just like MG cross body??? I have no opinion towards coach but they look like sisters...

Any thoughts guys?

There are a ton of bags in this basic saddle bag style out right now...Coach's bag is a reinterpretation of one of their 1972 classic bags.

The MG bag reminded me immediately of the Celine Trotteur bag (the old style)--which is beautiful but @ just under $2K it's more than I want to spend on a saddle bag. :D

Just got my cross body! I love the size and shape. I'm only 5'0" so I was worried about the length of the strap, but it is perfect. The leather is really scratched up though- not sure if this is normal? The back looks the same.

Looks like perhaps it was a display bag. You can probably buff the scratches out with leather conditioner, but it is up to you on how you feel about the bag whether or not you should return it!

Scratches and marks are normal on this type of leather and more will appear with use. In saying that the marks on your cross-body look more severe than normal. Have you contacted your retailer or MG?

That is not normal. The ones I have seen were not scratched up like that--is this possibly a customer return? Can you exchange it?

Thank you all for your replies! I contacted customer service and they are saying its the normal wear for veg tanned leather, which I really don't believe. They are giving me the option to return it but it's a UK retailer and I'm in NYC so I think it might be easier to just try to buff them out :(

I wanted this to be my knock around purse since I was so sad after I scratched my trio but I didn't want it to be this damaged so soon! Be careful what you wish for I guess :pout:

Do any of you have both the mini and regular cross-body and find you use them both?

I just bought the mini and started using it yesterday (I also have the regular size). The mini is much smaller than I expect but it's super cute! I find it good for when I want to bring only the essentials - iphone, mini wallet/pouch, keys, and lipstick. It's great because I try to minimize what I carry, so the bag practically forces me to successfully (and beautifully) stick to this plan :) I think the mini is best for when I'm out for only a few hours, like grocery shopping, while the regular is better for the whole day.

I just received my rosa crossbody in calf leather that I ordered from Bergdorf and I'm not in love with the color. In some lights it's a beautiful soft, ballerina pink but in other lights it just look light tan. Also, I think it would be very prone to denim transfer. However, I am very impressed with the quality of the leather, it's feels thick bit subtle and it doesn't appear prone to scratching. I'd consider buying this bag in a darker color in then future but for now it's going back. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1459452431.074624.jpg

I think rosa is a beautiful colour and ive had so much wear with the crossbody bag, you'll love it!

Re colour transfer i think the coloured MG calf leathers for the crossbody are the same as the bucket bag. If so be careful of the colour transfer as that happened to my flamma bucket. I have the crossbody in tan and whilst no signs of colour transfer, it is very prome to scratches and stains.

I had the same issue when I got my rosa crossbody from NAP a few weeks ago! The color by itself looks so soft and pretty, but literally does not go with my black/grey/white/cream monochromatic outfits... I tried to wear it with this white/grey cream-ish shirt, and the bag look incredibly weird. Ended up sending it back.

Is everyone still loving their Crossbody bags? How have they aged? Are they softening or losing structure? (Particularly concerned about this with the veg tan ones.)

I'm kind of at an impasse deciding between this MG, a Coach 1941 Saddle (less expensive, nice compartments, more colour variety, but with annoying buckles where the strap attaches), or a Celine Trotteur ($$$$).

I have 2. One in black saffiano and the other in the calf leather in Rosa. They're almost 2 years old. I bought them July and august 2015. This was when it was virtually impossible to find them. Both remain quite structured without sagging. I definitely prefer them over the coach saddle. Lighter with less hardware

I have the black vege tanned in regular and mini. They are extremely durable and very easy to care for. They have maintained their structure and along with my black mini bucket are my most used bags. Care wise I just use leather cream every now. All MG vege tanned leather scratches but the scratches seem to fade into the leather over time
