The track marks come from when the two pieces of leather are held together by a machine and sewn, I think thats why the veg-tan buckets have those marks.

On my bag, it's only on 1 side, not both sides. It's not very obvious on the black, I probably wouldn't have noticed it if not for hrhkaren's initial post.

For my bucket, the left side has very visible marks and the right side has very faint marks, you wouldn't really notice it. I think the track marks are only present on the veg-tan leather ('natural', so more vulnerable to markings) as my calf & saffiano are track-free.

I didn't even see any tracks on 1 side. I was nervous before my bucket arrived, having read about uneven colours, obvious scratches, streaks or bumps in the leather. Mine looked pretty much perfect and smells nice.

Unfortunately, the mini is too small for me. I read that the mini is more suitable for my height (5'2), hence got that size. It would have been just nice, if not for the fact that all my bags need to double up as a baby bag too.

You're one of the lucky ones then :D There almost always seems to be something wrong with the veg-tan, but its mostly leather related, which is the nature of it.

The first bucket I ever purchased was a large in black/flamma, I'm 5'4 and found the regular wayyy to big for me, It just looked uncomfortable on my frame. I don't carry around alot either so it definitely didn't suit me or my needs. I only get the mini now (for everything MG) as I find that it is a perfect fit in all aspects.

You should definitely get the regular if it suits your needs more, or even a tote! That would be a great casual/baby bag and easy to get stuff in and out of as well :)

Just an FYI- I know there are quite a few people that have had issues with the leather on this latest batch of veg-tanned buckets. I just received two buckets one black the other camello. Luckily neither one had issues......

Hi cleda

I couldn't seem to attach an image via PM, so will share here instead. My mini bucket has these tracks too. I would also assume it's a defect, but since I know that others have this too, I don't mind it. Maybe this 'defect' can be a way to authenticate MG buckets.

Mine is much more imprinted on bag...perhaps it's the lighting on your picture?
I'm fine with it but just want to know if I'm the only one and it seems like I'm not 😏

Just wanted to share my excitement - my mini flamma/flamma from MG came this morning!! I love that the bow is so much easier to tie in comparison to the veg leather :)

I don't think it's just this batch. My very first last year I had to go through several to get one that was ok. The nature of the leather though is that it isn't completely free from imperfection and with first use they show wear regardless of condition when they're bought.
I have learned to accept this though and I bought two calf bags recently and even both of those have small marks etc (have to look closely to see them but they're definitely not flaw free).

Completely torn between the sand bucket and Rosa.
I have both but only want to keep one (considered both but I know I won't use both enough).
Neither is perfect however I guess the rosa has more issues than the sand (few marks and the metal stud connecting the pouch has that brown ring on it some have) but I guess eventually they will both show wear.
I just don't know which to pick. Rosa is probably more different to anything I have but I don't often wear pinks or whites. I'm more a jeans and tshirt type.

Which to pick?! (Why can't this be easy!!)

I would choose Sand since it is more of a neutral....but that's just me.
