I dont know if Lamar needs to see a psychiatrist but he needs this season to be over fast because he might have a mental breakdown. Him not adjust to the mavs is not all his fault as Kobe points out. The mavs play a different style than he has ever been used to and he doesnt play continuous minutes nor with a consistent lineup. He is playing out of position and it has to be hard for him to be able to conform his game into a system that is already set. It would have helped him, if he came to training camp in shape and ready to play by now he would have adjusted to their system.

Lamar needs to take this summer and change a lot of things in his life in order to come back next year strong and focus. He should start with eliminating any Kardashian television in his life. He had worked hard for his career, 13 seasons in the league, 2 championships, 6th man of the year and a world championship and now he is being called Lam Lam by every sport writer in the country and his wife stupid, mindless tweets are included in articles written about him by espn. com. This is so sad.

Kobe Bryant: Booing Lamar Odom 'just stupidity'DALLAS -- There are no longer scattered boos for Lamar Odom at the American Airlines Center. The boos come in a chorus.

“That’s just stupidity,” Kobe Bryant said. Bryant appeared to give his former teammate a pick-me-up sort of speech after the Lakers’ lopsided win Wednesday night over the Mavericks. Bryant spoke into Odom’s ear for several seconds, patted him on the chest and hugged him at the end of the one-sided conversation.

“None of your business what I said,” Kobe snapped when asked about the chat.

The boos, which were especially loud after Odom bricked a free throw in the second quarter, prompted Khloe Kardashian to share his feelings with the six-plus million people who follow her on Twitter. She felt the need to stand up for her husband while watching for her usual seat behind the Mavs’ television broadcast crew.

That was how one tweet from Khloe read, and it was followed by another:

✔@KhloeKardashian Everyone/anyone is entitled and expected to miss a basket but either way the positive energy will fuel these Mavs!!!! We got this!

Debate the cause and effect if you wish, but Odom didn’t provide Mavs fans any inspiration to create positive energy. His one-point, one-rebound, one-assist, one-steal outing was lackluster even by the low standards Odom has established this season.

Kobe insists it isn’t all Odom’s fault that the multiskilled forward’s numbers are career lows almost across the board.
“It’s tough,” Bryant said. “He comes to a team that’s pretty much set, you know what I mean? So it’s hard for him to find his niche. The fans, they don’t really understand what he does or how he can do it, you know what I mean? “I hope they don’t unlock that mystery. I know. I know how to use him and to use his skill set and this, that and the other. But with this team, the roster that they had being pretty much set, it’s tough for him to be able to find his groove here.”

Bryant playfully said that he is “pleasantly surprised” that Odom hasn’t found a way to be productive for the Mavs yet. Kobe added that Bryant is a player that needs to be featured, not just plugged into a system.

“Of course I had a lot of fun with those guys,” Odom said of the Lakers, “but I’m here now and I have to focus on winning games and finding out how to fit my game to help this team down the stretch.”

The problem with Kobe’s theory: How do you feature somebody who is playing scared? Odom, who is shooting .345 from the floor after a 9-of-40 funk over the last seven games, looks like a guy who wants no part of having the ball in his hands.

“As a shooter, as a player, if you get a little hesitant, it's over,” Dirk Nowitzki said. “Once you start thinking in this game, that's tough.”

It’s been tough for Odom since he arrived from L.A. It’ll get even tougher if he lets the boos go to his head.

One of these days, Lamar is going to step back and see how he's being portrayed by Khloe and her family be appalled. I can't get over how she babys him, mostly because she has nothing else going on in her life. She acts more like a mother than a wife.

It looks like he slowly getting the big picture. I watch the last interview with him on Foxnews where he did talk about Khloe and the show. He talked about the show being in the past and several times mentioned that he 'thought it was going to be easy' but it was hard to do. I hope someone can talk some sense into him, so he can quit reality tv and finish his career strong. Too bad, everyone around him just uses him, Khloe to increase her personal brand, his dad for money and Jamie for both.

Actually, Khloe's tweets were on point. Positivity goes a long way. Lamar is an emotional dude the constant booing will not get the desired change. Even one of the ESPN writers tweeted that today.

Her tweets about the game haven't been removed, they are still there. Even some of the Mavs reporters returned her tweets in agreeance.

I dunno, to me Khloe tweeting her fingers off about the boos make her sound defensive. Let them boo, who cares, athletes get booed all the time. Just be a supportive wife without blasting the "haters" on Twitter. There are other ways to be supportive without tweeting it, lol.

Maybe he should talk to Hump. Kris made the boos, public humilation of having his wife leave him, and being a laughing stock of the gossip world motivate him.

its amazing, hump is younger and seemed more .... well, dopey. But he has focused and done well. I hope lamar can do the same, even though I think he was dumb to get involved in the K! show, I hate to see him go down in flames.

Positivity is great and all, but booing players who do not deliver is part of the game. Always has been and always will be and Khloe's tweets are not gonna change a thing. The fans don't care about Lamar's mental state the way Khloe does. They do acknowledge that he's "emo", down on himself and playing without confidence, but they are not his personal cheerleaders. They will not hold his hand and tell him that everything is gonna get better. () If he stinks up the court they will let him know it. Now on the other hand, when he has a good / great game, they will let him know it, too.
That's the difference between family and friends in this situation. Family has your back no matter what. With fans, you've gotta earn their respect and support.
And really, I don't blame the Mavs fans. He has done pretty much nothing for them. He was out of shape at the beginning of the season, mentally fragile all along and after 4 months with the team he still hasn't been able to adapt to them. Instead he went on a questionable leave, did not report back to the team as it was originally agreed upon and even (by all acounts) asked to be bought out... Why would they have his back when so obviously does not want to be there?
@Oruka: Yes the Mavs play a totally different ball than the Lakers, but from a player who's been in the league as long as Lamar it has to be expected that he somehow makes it work. And quite frankly, I doubt it's simply the system that's troubling him. It's mostly in his head, imo, and his mental problems have resulted in a lack of effort he's even been called out for by his teammates...
I forgot what else I wanted to write, so Imma stop here.

....And putting things on Twitter makes her sound uber-defensive. Who cares if they boo, just be a supportive instead of taking to Twitter and slamming the "haters."

I watched the game and from what I read, this time the booing was different if it makes any difference. Normally, there are a few scatter boos when he checks into the game. Last night, he was on the foul line. Just him standing on the line. She has never tweeted about the boos before, but this was extreme and in front of his old team. He missed the first shot and it was an extremely loud chorus of boos from the Mav fans. He still had to shoot the second and he made it. There was other players that missed free throws in the game, but they don't boo them. And this was second quarter so, he hadn't played much anyway.

I don't have a problem with her tweets. She was not rude or disrespectful. Just simply stating positivity goes a long way.

Oh, I totally agree. I put all this on Lamar. It's two fold. He didn't handle the situation the right way and also he is not being used the right way. The city of Dallas has been nothing but welcoming. They are now fed up, but that doesn't help an emotional player. Lamar has been an emotional player his whole career.

This part I don't understand. He has been playing professional basketball for 13 years plus all the other years when he was on a team before turning pro and he doesn't keep in shape during the off season? That's ridiculous. Players like that deserve to be cut. Yes I know other people in sports do it too but basketball is unique with the running up and down the court so many times (soccer even more so). Basket ball is often a game of speed, except the last 2 minutes which always drag on for a an hour or so.

From what I have seen, I like Lamar as a person but he does not strike me as a go-getter. He never appears energetic. Now granted maybe he is working to counter act the frenzied energy of Kardashianland. I'm probably out of place in stating the above because I don't Lamar or the Kardashians all that often and sometimes I jump to conclusions without all the facts.

Say what you will about Kris H, he was always taking time to go work out or practice basketball (often leaving Kim seemingly annoyed that he was not going to be at her beck and call 24 hours a day). He talked trainers. He struck me as an athlete. Lamar, not so much. Kris worked at staying in shape. He was ready when the season started. And it has helped pay off for him.

Dear Khloe,

zip it.
Stop babying "Lam Lam". Stop acting as if you were his mouth-piece. He's a grown man and if he's got something to say to the world, he will.
There's nothing wrong with being a supportive wife, but how about being a supportive wife in private for a change? He does not need you to tell anyone (via twitter FFS) to shut up during the game. He needs you to be there for him before and after the games... IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR HOME, not on twitter!

AMEN!!!!!!:ps:
