I love Paraiba tourmalines! The Paraibas from Brazil are second to none. Brazilian Paraibas are the reference for top color, but fine quality large size stones are very pricey and rare. Fine Paraibas glow neon turquoise blue; they are stunning.View attachment 6020805

The Bulgari ones above are most likely Mozambique (just a guess based on what I see in the photo), which is still nice of course. One key difference is the hue and saturation. If you are thinking of getting this necklace, look at some Brazilian Paraibas for comparison.

I always thought that Paraiba tourmalines were green, does it also describe blue?
In anycase that necklace is stunning.
I was just surprised that the necklace use for a movie was actually real and not a prop. And gaudy or not, it could easily find its way to my jewelry box in the unlikely event, I hit the lottery.
