Scarves The Hermès Spring Summer 2018 Scarves

Hi, everyone. I’m thinking of trying something fun. I saw these Couvertures Nouvelles twillies the other day and while they are definitely not my usual colors, they would go with enough of my bags and they kinda got stuck in my head.

When I went to visit them again yesterday, I noticed that they did this design in the pochette in very similar colors....

....and looking online the 140 in the same colors too. If you look at the all-en website, this happened with most of the cws of this design this season.

So, I’m thinking of buying a set. I don’t own any pochettes and I don’t really know if I’ll wear it, I love pochettes and I think they’re cute but I’ve had them in the past and felt that I didn’t wear them enough. I don’t think I want to try this experiment with the large 140 (and anyway my boutique doesn’t have it).

What do you guys think?

Apologies for the markups. Just got the new iPad Pro yesterday with the keyboard and the pencil and I am so happy with it...playing around. Also that first color name on the website is still that annoying H website mess-up where they think the two letter colorway abbreviation is an actual color.

I tried the larger format in silk in this pattern at Madison this last week - it was a different colorway but it ties really well - you may be happy with the larger size - I think the 140cm all silk are like the cashmere shawl alternative for warmer days - I really love the size in luxurious luminous silk twill - it feels good against the skin.
And this pattern is so classic Hermes and seriously I’m still thinking about the one I tried on - it was navy with rust and so rich looking - this silk season is killing me- I’m way over my budget for silk for the year ..... but still ..... I’m thinking hard on this one.
Regarding pochettes - I love them and here’s why -
You DH can borrow it for his suit pocket.
They look fabulous and very retro tied to a bag (but I don’t use twillys on handles)
The pocket size looks super cute when worn with a T shirt -
The small format is a lot of options in a small square -
Love the idea of a set- I love sets and am a matchup kind of gal.
It reminds me of old school ladylike style.
Now you have me wanting a set !!!’

I think the pouchette is a fun alternative to twillies... I have one and I often tie it like a flower on the handle of the Birkin when I want a change from twillies... It adds a very cute touch without being overwhelming. I don't wear pouchettes on my neck bc they make me feel like a stewardess but I think they are cute on others. On the bags tho... SOOOOOO ADORABLE! xoxo

This. They give the effect of threading your carre through your bag handles because the weather has warmed and you've taken it off.... without all of the fabric.

I think I am coming around to the pochettes. The last few seasons H has been really blowing the lid off with the designs and colors in this format. And I do like the idea of sticking one in DHs (or one of DS’) suit pocket and we could match....many years ago I bought two of a scarf and had one made into three ties for the guys (I should do that again)

Such a beautiful scarf. I would love it and really appreciate it if you could snap some additional pictures! I ordered the black and white and I am going to order either blue or green to try a colorful version of this design. To my eyes (in the photo) it looks completely blue/teal. Obviously I totally believe you ladies about the color being tricky and not actually teal - I'm just having trouble seeing it. I suppose it's hard to capture without seeing it in person



Thanks for your reply! I saw your pics of the black/white (very helpful, thank you). You seem to have a similar complexion to me based on your mod shot, did you find this green to be flattering? Sounds like it would be as the malachite / emerald greens are stunning from Hermes. I love green too and it's one of the most flattering colors on me if the shade is right. If the shade is wrong it's one of the least flattering! Funny how that works

Sorry for the post delay — holiday week/weekend here so I’m a bit slothlike. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I suppose the green silk could be seen as having a blue undertone to it...especially in different lighting. Trying to figure out how best to take some snaps for you...

Here are some snaps of the green panther silk. The colorway is aqua/ turquoise / vert so I think everyone is right! The background is a pale green (like a mint green but very very light colored) and the contrast hem is green. However, the panther is green-blue aka “teal” whereas the rest of the pattern is green. You can see the contrast when I folded the scarf in half and draped the green side on one shoulder and the teal side on the other.

Finally got my grey Tigre!!! I’ve been focusing on smaller formats lately as I tend to wear them more when dressing casual. I still love the 90s for the office but these bandanas are perfect with jeans.
