Congratulations on both Samourais! Great photos!
They are both lovely. Thank you for sharing these photos.
Thank you infant_terrible for posting detailed comparison pics of your PdSs. I understand why you bought both of them. Love the detailed engraving in grey (cw6) and the navy&blue combo in cw5.
Great pics. These really seem to capture the “salmon-ness” the lucky few who’ve seen it tell us it has vs the stronger orange it usually appears as in photographs.
Ohhhh, gorgeous! Congrats!
Thanks for taking the time to do this.. Are you keeping both???![]()
Fabulous. What do you think are the chances that either of these will show up on the US H.com site?
Congratulations! It's a gorgeous shawl on you!
Congrats on your first CSGM! It is gorgeous on you, MotoChiq!
Hi MaryandDogs!
CW refers to the "colorway" of each scarf. The various colors presented in one particular scarf. The predominant colors of that CW are written on the paper tag. If you go to the Hermes Website, or even search the Hermes stock pics on this thread, you will see numbers like 05, 07, 12 etc..... These numbers classify the colorway. Not all colorways are ordered by the Sales Manager or Director. The store where I shop may order certain colorways of a scarf design that, say, Madison Avenue may not consider. If you see a colorway on line that you like, you can have your sales associate track it down for you. Hope this helps!
Welcome to this H scarf thread, MaryAndDogs! Happy that you are joining us here.
CW is short for "colourway" - it refers to 3 (dominant) colours that Hermès uses on each scarf or shawl design. The numbers correspond to a particular set of scarf or shawl colours. And these cw numbers are found on the Hermès website, on the paper tags attached to scarves and in your receipt -- you can check the ones you have, e.g. your Samouraïs cashmere silk GM (CSGM) shawl is cw 06. It's a quick way for scarfies here to identify which scarf they are talking about specifically.
Edited to add: @Ladybaga explained it better!![]()
I like the word you used: salmon-ness!Made me chuckle, Pirula.

Thank you all for your likes and comments!
I'm keeping both. With my pale skin all bright reds, greens, corals etc don't like me back (as well as light pastels). Thus it was the obvious choice for me. The navy one gives me a chance of wearing a striking "salmon-ness"
far enough from my face. And yes, it's definitely not an orange color. IRL it's slightly brighter than in my photos, but just a bit. The CW 6 reminds me of CW 3 in silk by it's gorgeous grey filigree with limited amplitude of other colors. I hope both will be available on US H site soon. I picked mine in Toronto store. It was (once in a blue moon
) a perfect timing for me. SAs had just started to unpack new shipment when I came.

This is my favorite colorway of this scarf. You look beautiful in this!I’m a bit late to this thread for this season, but I finally got around to checking out the new collection in store today I was very weak and came away with Jeu de Cartes in cw13. I don’t think this one has made it onto their website here in the UK yet. View attachment 3964962View attachment 3964963
